So we replaced our starting LT from last year with a worse LT. Fucking unreal. We had ONE goal.

I watch them every week. Sorry for forgetting the background of Alex Lewis thought he came off our PS nonetheless I liked what I seen of him when on the field didn't remind me of a star but didn't look horrid.

He's an ok starter. We need a center now. Wouldn't mind seeing them negotiate with Matt Skura.

Free agents can pick and choose where they want to play. We will never get tier 1 free agents until we start winning.

The upper echelon teams(Pats, Ravens, Chiefs, Saints, 49ers) haven't gone crazy with tier 1 FA signings. The bad to mediocre teams(Fins, Browns, Giants to an extent) have. I'd rather emulate the former than the latter.

You do realize that we still have the rest of free agency and an entire draft still to go?

I hope, for your sake, you are just trolling as usual, because you really sound stupid

True but once we establish a winning culture then what Douglas is doing right now by being a hard negotiator will still land us good players. Devin Mccourty resigned cheap. Because of the winning culture. No more overpaying them to come to a garbage team.

Pats, Ravens, Chiefs, Saints etc doesn't have horrendous offensive line play, as the Jets do. If any GM needed to splash with proven FA Offensive Lineman it was Joe Douglas. We have Darnold on the line here.

Lots of people saying he is average..

The dude outright sucks, he is ranked 50/63 guards in the NFL. I am even seeing that brian winters had a higher grade.

Sorry to break it to you all, not a good start for Joe D. At least he traded Leo, that’s one of the few positive things I can say so far

Again, building an offensive line infused with youth talent is far superior than a line filled with high priced free agents that will only be here for a couple years.

We have spent huge money in free agency for 5+ years and that has gotten us NOTHING. Douglas is clearly relying on his ability to draft quality talent.

You need to get right with the fact that we aren't a Superbowl team right now. It takes time to build a team the right way. The draft is where we want to see the most improved aspect of this team. That's it.

Over spending in FA is how we constantly suck it up as a team. Year in, year out.

Let's see what happens in the draft. Right now over complaining, this early in on, isn't logically sound.

Let's chill (I know, impossible) and let Joe Douglas be Joe Douglas. For now i am assuming Fant is a diamond in the rough, and will be a prime example why we have Joe Douglas as our GM.

Because they had no money to spend. Look at their spending the past few seasons. They were at the bottom of available cap space.
Next season we can either try to extend Darnold or else pick up his option year. His big payday is coming up fast.

Well he did find Alex Lewis. And he's turned out to be a decent player. Not great...average. But we got him for nothing and that's not easy to do on the Oline

I'm not convinced Fant can just be pegged for the LT job. There is still a draft and if Andrew Thomas is there...we're going to pass up on him because we signed Fant? No way

Sam needs to have an above average season before I even consider extending him. He has the ability, but hasn't had the week to week consistency. And I'd rather draft well and extend homegrown players than be forced to sign a bunch of big name FA's.
