He's been a hell of a lineman, no doubt. And an interesting one considering he started out his career as a tight end. Peters is a guy who's career I respect a lot. I don't see him leaving the Eagles and if he does its just one more cash grab before he calls it quits, he's too old
Well that would eliminate him from the Jets plans......way too many holes to dish out $20 million for a 32 year old.
I'd do it for $2 mill. I can't imagine I'd do a much worse job at one of the spots than Brandon Shell or Kalil did.
Carlos Dunlap.....Reggie White.............I've heard this somewhere........ $20 million per year Trent? . Get bent. . Instead fingers-crossed that the Cleveland Browns don't end up screwing the Jets at #10.
The odds on the Jets getting screwed at #11 are close to zero. 4 OT's and 2 WR's would have to go in the first 10 picks for that to happen in a draft where at least 2 QB's, 2 Edges and a CB seem like locks to go in the top 10.
I'm still bemused by Brooks's mock draft v3 on the nfl site. We still take a CB over either Jeudy and Beckton who are taken immediately after our pick...is he for real! Even if we keep Anderson I'd still take either of those with our first pick. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
Jets fans have been mesmerized by a faulty paradigm that values defense over offense in the last two decades. CB in particular has been over-emphasized dramatically. This is because we've continually gone with a bizarre blend of bend-but-don't break and blitz-em-til-something breaks.
This is the Jets. If there's a way to screw up, they'll find it. That said, I look forward to what Douglas does at 11. Does he go for the best OT available, one of the top two WR prospects, a SOJ move and take Derrick Brown? Can't wait.
Bucky Brooks is a dolt. He's never right. He went to the Univ. of North Carolina (a Tarheel). That explains it all.
He could do something really unique like trade down and add a couple more picks in the top 100 picks.
This would probably be a good move if the 4th OT and the 3rd WR were sitting there on the 11. No point in using a prime pick at the end of a positional run when your two primary positions were both tapped out. Obviously if the Jets have no difference between their 3rd and 4th choices at OT then you stay and make the pick. Taking an edge or CB at 11 might be a good fit for the Jets defense but it will be a terrible fit for the team needs, even as it upgrades the unit that is not a ramshackle ruin right now.
You're probably right and I pray you iz. A couple of potential quirks beginning with Wash. at #2 (with new staff). Do they grab Young or jump Mia. for Tua? NYG, Chargers, Cards and Browns worry me. Cards I would think would either go defense or possibly reunite Murray with Lamb?...or do they (just like the NYG et al) look to protect their young QB too?
I think the Cards are going to take a player we want at 8. They have the same needs we do and the same vested interest in supporting a young QB.
