Thuney might be the only one I'd go all in on.

According to that , Thuney is a must have. I just hope he’s not the product of the Pats system

too lazy to look up the class again but i do recall saying to myself there is likely some interior line talent out there that could help the jets - at a decent price.

think the OT position will have to be drafted.

The Jets HAVE to upgrade IOL in the worst way.

One of Thuney, Glasgow, or Scherrf have to be Jets.

Hopefully it’s one of the first two. Scherrf has been a little too banged up recently for my tastes.

If the Jets signed Thuney and drafted Becton plus a decent center at some point it would have to be considered an excellent off season for the Jets OL.

    Agreed.
    Successful but also very realistic
    LT Becton
    LG Lewis
    C Cushenberry
    RG Thuney
    RT Edoga

plus a couple of cheaper FA pickups along with a 6 or 7 rounder should give us some good depth

I’m just not sure where Beachum fits into all this. I think we need to resign him as insurance but if the draft breaks this way I guess he great depth

Would be an excellent offseason just accomplishing that, correct. And its really not that hard. All of those guys are easily within reach

Thuney is from the very SAME high school as legendary Jets offensive lineman Nick Mangold

    it's a sign. just sayin'

Can move Beachum to RT, though he's not really a road grader. Sign him to a 1 year deal, and hope Edoga improves and is ready for his 3rd season.

I wouldn't move Beachum over. According to every statistical website he's never played right tackle. I think it's harder to go from left to right especially when you're later in your career. The footwork is completely different.

Which guard spot does Thuney play in NE?

    I like it more as
    LT Beachum
    LG Thuney
    C Draftee
    RG Lewis
    RT Becton

    But tomato/tomaaato.

I think Thuney would make Beachum look a lot better as a run blocker, whichever side they play on.

Yeah swap Beachum and Becton in that case then. For some reason, I thought he played RT before. Beachum is a good athlete though, I think he could do it, but why do it if you have Becton.

    Thuney has been a LG.

I’d make a big time offer and push for Conklin...

Scherff, Thuney and Glasgow I have a lot of interest in as well. If he landed Conklin, I have a feeling Glasgow would be the best value play of the 3, and can provide C depth. Can’t just depend on landing a day 1 C in the draft.

Also is chopping Winters salary potentially an option?
He’s paid too much right now but he’s not a bad G imo, especially if playing next to someone like Conklin.

You also can’t just throw Edoga aside.

I know he had some struggles last year, but he was also a third round “project” who was promoted to RT over Brandon Shell mid season ( where he played reasonably well ) . But was then forced to move to LT when Beachum got hurt ( where he was terrible)

Me ? I hoping the glass is half full and he’s ready to up his game and lock down the RT position

I would throw him to the side. We traded up to get Brandon Shell and thought in the same scenario 'well maybe we can be our starter at RT for a long side.' We tried it with Wayne Hunter almost ten years ago too.

That's not to say that Edoga shouldn't remain on the roster and hopefully work to develop him. But I think it'd be irresponsible to factor him in as a starter. Swing tackle and backup guard is a good spot for him. His footwork was painfully slow last year.

I hope he does develop. And be definitely could. But I wouldn't bet Darnold standing upright on it. Edoga single handedly almost got him killed vs. Jacksonville which I believe is where the non-throwing hand injury originated.

Felt like Alex Lewis for a fraction of the price was about the same no? No dead money I believe (?), just opens up cap space.

    He gone.
