Okay - no idea if he will be any good, just as I had no idea if Beltran was going to be any good. He knows all of the players, and hopefully they like him (but not too much, if you know what I mean).
You are joking, right? Of course Brodie chose someone he'd have influence over. That said, as the news has sunk in I am happy with the choice. Luis appears to be hard-working, well-liked by players who have played for him, and of course comes from an incredible baseball family, which I believe DOES matter. Mets fans have a soft spot for guys who are from within their family so Luis will get a decent leash. I think it's going to work out.
