Let's see if the Chiefs defense wears down in the second half. That being said, the titans need to match scores and that appears its going to be difficult....
Now you can see why I said Chris Jones over Clowney every day. Dude's a complete beast. Chiefs holding Henry on this drive.
This is starting to feel a bit like the Jets vs Colts AFCCC. Titans are starting to clam up with obvious playcalls and I think Mahomes will start to pick them off as the game progresses.
Yep, lets see if the Chiefs get some more points here and keep the momentum going into the second half.
Anyone think Reid should have used a timeout after that stop? They could have saved at least 20 seconds, which is more than they can save at any point in this drive. And they'd still have a timeout remaining for a last-second emergency.
I see what you're thinking but I think teams view having that timeout on the drive as being more valuable. You save the same 20-30 seconds on a completion which gains more yards of field position.
Those penalties drive me absolutely fucking nuts. From an officiating standpoint and a fan stand point. Does that affect a play that much when there was a fair catch? It must drive coaches wild.
You'd save it on the completion anyway though, since you'd have 20-30 extra seconds on the clock to begin with. And if you're quick up to the line, you can get there in less time than that.
Reminds me of the 2009 Jets, had 17-6 lead and then the clock hit midnight when Peyton figured the Jets D out. Mahomes is on fire right now and might have figured the Titans D out.
Keeping the middle of the field open is more valuable when you're looking for chunk plays though. If you save the time before the two minute warning you force yourself to try to take two shots before then. Whereas if you save it, you can deviate as to when you want to take those shots.
I thought the same thing. 45 seconds one timeout is way better than 23 two timeouts. Doesn't matter. Let's go Mahomes!!!!!!
