How so? From 2013-2017 they won 3 division titles in 5 seasons and had two losing seasons (one of them was a division title year) and three double digits win years including the loss in the SB.
I think he means with the 7 year deal either Rhule produces or the next decade will be bad for football in NC. Kinda like here with the Luck retirement and Cincinnati and Chicago being garbage, Indiana has become miserable during football season. I have to stream games to see the Jets and watch what is going on TV which is normally Patriots garbage.
That's in the past. I'm talking about going forward. Their OL needs a lot of help. Their D isn't what it once was. I'm not certain how much longer Kuechle will play. He's had a fair number of concussions. With Rhule having complete control, that means control over the draft and FA as well. He doesn't know the players in the NFL and we have no clue how he is at evaluating talent. If he isn't good, the Panthers will go downhill. That's my point.
If you meant the one on Gettleman, he did add a few good players, but he pretty much ignored the OL and tried to go the same route as Mac with UDFAs and lower round players. Cam took a beating. Part of it is his fault because he isn't elusive and doesn't always seem to feel the pressure and holds the ball too long, but overall, I think the Panthers did well in spite of Gettleman, not because of him. If he was so great, he'd still be with the Panthers.
LOL I don't know about Ruhle but this new owner's got Dan Snyder 2.0 tatooed all over him http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001095204/article/tepper-matt-rhule-can-be-panthers-chuck-noll
Is it worse than what Johnson said about Gase? “He’s coaching to where the game is going?” I still don’t know what that means. I give the owners credit for wanting to win and putting money into the team but it’s really not an easy task to build a team. Having the correct blueprint is the key, and most of all the FQB, it’s all for nothing without the QB.
Obviously our head coaching situation is a mess, but I hope the Matt Rhule lovefest will slowly come to a halt if he continues to struggle with seasons like this one. They're young, but people acted like he was going to be some sort of miracle worker. They'll be 4-10 after tonight.
Agreed JV. Don't see anything special with him. But I won't diss him just yet. Let's see what he does in the next 2 years before I call him a bust.
