I thought Kalil would be average at worst. He just wanted one last payday. He was totally shot and incapable of playing. I expected a somewhat competent o-line. Was another turnstile. Did not think Adams would be as good as he was in 2019. Adams I thought would be a good to sometimes very good player who is not quite elite and a game changer. He proved to be a game changer at times this year. Good to see Expected better from Marcus Maye. He did have a solid Steelers game late in the season though. He can still be decent. But I still wouldn't have spent a 2nd rounder on him when we just took Adams. Would definitely go offense there Definitely though Powell and Montgomery would have a greater role in this offense. Crowder I thought would be the beast that he was. Great signing. Next year should be another 70-80 catch and 800-900 yard season. Thought this was the year Herndon would be mentioned among the top tight ends in the NFL. Was a total lost season for him.
I did vote in it. I was robbed! j/k. I don't there was a money thing in that one. I'm not the only one who voted that way.
I thought our offensive line would merely be a critical weak point on the team. What I never imagined was that it would be among the worst ever assembled in the history of organized football for a full half season. I also thought Trumaine Johnson would rally back being reunited with Williams. heh... that didn't exactly happen.
I was wrong being worried about the Pats going 19-0 after their dominant first two months lol Title doesn't specify only Jet-related mea culpas
Where was I wrong? I was wrong for thinking that Gase maybe could actually improve Darnold and get us into the playoffs. I was wrong for having a slight bit of hope that this could be a good season. I was wrong for going to take a piss at halftime of the season opener and treating myself to a Mrs. Fields cookie and thinking that it was a great start to the season and maybe another score and we were 1-0 against "Josh Allen and the Bills" I was wrong for thinking that Trevor Siemien could somehow beat the Browns.
I thought the OL would be better which would in turn lead to Sam (and the offense) having a better season.
1. Thought team would make playoffs. 2. Thought Darnold would perform better than he did. 3. Thought Bell would be more productive. 4. Thought Bell would be a negative off field distraction.
1. Offensive line would be much improved. 2. Darnold would take a giant leap w/Gase being an offensive “guru”. 3. Bell had a lot left in the tank. 4. CB would be a giant problem this year.
I really thought Montgomery and Bell would both play a huge role in the passing game. Thought we'd see a lot of two back sets with them; once the threat of them as pass catchers was enough for the defense to replace a LB with a CB, then start running the ball with Bell. Keeping teams off balance like that would've helped mitigate the poor play of our OL. I also thought our lack of CBs would be the downfall of our defense, but Williams really got a lot out of the guys he had on defense.
I thought the Kalil signing would be very positive - wrong. Also thought Gase would figure out how to make Bell a viable weapon running the ball and out of the back field - wrong...
I thought Darnold would put up better numbers, but I also thought the offensive line would be way better.
