If they're not careful in just a few short seasons they'll be making a run at Buffalo's playoffsless streak of futitlity that Buffalo only recently put a end to. What was it 18 years? It's amazing how fast time flies.
I think it was 16. I would have to look it up. But we are getting close. And with a roster that looks like a wheel of cheese from an old cartoon things don't look good.
The roster is no excuse. The system is designed for teams to make quick turnarounds. Get rid of the dead weight, the mercs, unreliable players Leonard Williams was a great start, pay the guys that deserve to get paid Robby, Jamal start there, pay guys that will give them a bang for their bucks they'll be good. Pay guys that come here to take it easy on IR they'll never get it right.
Agreed, as I've said 2 year rebuild is what we should be looking at max. We already supposedly have our qb so we should be a fringe playoff contender next year. Superbowl contender year after. But I don't think Gase can do it. I hope they let Douglas pick his own coach when Gase fails.
Agreed. Look at Buffalo. They have to re-sign Robby. If they let him walk it'll set back this 'rebuild' years. Say no to Amari Cooper he's not the answer. Overrated asf. Re-sign Robby and take a flier on AJ Green. That's what I would do.
Losing Robbie Anderson will set the Jets back years? I think that really says it all as to the talent level on the roster.
He can identify what will work against teams, his opening drive scripts have been amazing since Sam came back from mono. The problem is this dude just can't counter any adjustments the other team makes. Maybe hire an actual OC instead of Patton Oswalt.
Yeah I'm a big Josh Allen fan but we got the right guy champ. Josh Allen is what you settle happily for when Darnold is no longer available.
You have hit the nail on the head. The 1st couple of plays are schemed then the other team makes adjustment & Sam production goes in the toilet cause Gase cannot figure out to counter the other team changes.
It is promising that we went from not scoring at all on opening drives for what seemed like an eternity/years to quite the opposite. Still not a fan of Gase but I will give him credit for that.
let me guess: a bunch of you got a lump of coal for xmas this is a positive stat -- there's no other way to slice it. When was the last time, as a Jets fan you could say you expected to score on an opening drive Yes, the team still has a lot of holes, and more work is needed -- but that doesn't mean this stat is useless
Robby's starting to actually fight for balls in the air though. finally oh right, he has an expiring contract after the season
