Fact is Revis was garbage when he came back. No on needs Marshall to tell them. Marshall was a great football player. What he did off the field I don't agree with, but for you to deny his talent on the field shows you know absolutely nothing about football. Him calling Revis garbage means nothing at that point Revis was garbage.
Darrelle Revis is a hall of famer. but yeah, Brandon Marshall was a “good” receiver. Good for him. Good receivers are a dime a dozen, they are everywhere
Unfortunately, we seem to find them AFTER they're good. They're usually mediocre when they get to Florham Pk. and that's before the over pay on the contract.
Really cause we could sure use a good receiver right now. Yes Revis is a future Hall of Famer. But his last few years he was worse the Kyle Wilson. At that time we were paying big money for Wilson type play.
I was mad at Fitzpatrick for throwing those picks, but I was far more disappointed in Revis. Who cares about Sheldon.
C’mon.Marshall was a top 5 WR in the league for a good 3-5 yrs & the closest thing this team has had in terms of “instant offense” since Keyshawn/Chrebet. Its a shame we didnt have him in his prime or any legit skilll player for that matter. Maybe its bc the team echoes what so many on TGG think in that theres no such thing as a great skill & theyre a “dime a dozen”.Apparently the team has been short on dimes since the jukebox era.
Fitz isn't good by any means, but his numbers this year are almost identical to Darnold's in just as bad a situation. Make of that what you will.
Yea. And Fitz has almost 20 years of NFL experience compared to only a 2nd year kid who's still learning and improving.
Ah but for most of that 15 season he was Magic, right up until he bottled the Bills game, the shit bag and then the season after, awful. But that is how the Fitz cycle plays out, he played some excellent games for the Bucc last year also and the same happened in the end, at the end of the day he gave us one great season that was exciting, Fitz, Decker and Marshall with Ivory also going off(I think) made it a better than normal season, at least we were scoring TD's and breaking records lol
IF Marshall was a top 5 receiver as you claim, he would not have been tossed aside so much. the guy was traded in his prime for mid round draft picks, multiple times. The league obviously as a whole did not view him as a top 5 receiver as that does not happen to top 5 receivers, normally
If you look at the stats he was a top 5 receiver. And your post makes no sense.. Randy Moss was traded, gonna deny his greatness? TO was also traded, he was also a top 5 receiver at the time. So yeah, they do get traded. Marshall had off the field issues and was a drama queen, much like TO. You keep people like Megatron who are great on and off the field. You can't diminish how good Marshall was on field because you didn't like him off the field.
Marshall's stats always came in garbage time, obviously, that's why he never played in the NFL playoffs even once.
He had 6 years at over 1200 yards. 8 over 1000 yr8ds. Unless he got 1200 yards in 8 games (which would make him insanely talented) it was hardly all in garbage time. He played for some really bad teams and had really bad qbs. I mean Cutler, Henne, Quinn, Fitzpatrick. He was still a really good player. I can see why during your career you were that era's Luke Falk. You, much like the Jets FO for years, obviously don't understand talent.
