At some point, someone has to provide actual real life reasons for Gase being an NFL head coach other than “Peyton Manning loves him”.
Why does that matter? The Jets sucked last year. We had a horrendous offseason and draft. We had our starting QB start the season with mono and lots of key injuries. If we knew when the season started that Sam would miss several games with Mono, Bell was slow as molasses hitting either a hole or a pile of defenders and Mosley would go down in game 1 and not play a snap along with the other pile of injuries and failed moves you might consider that 5 wins is a miracle. You know what's a miracle. The Browns, loaded with first round talent on both sides of the ball, who weren't mathematically eliminated from the playoffs went into AZ and mailed it in. Cleveland players were asking Cardinals coaches for a job next year. The guys assembling the Jets roster and draft since 2008 that's 11 straight years have been Tannenbaum, Idzik and Mccagnan. It's a fucking miracle that this team can win a game. That doesn't mean Gase doesn't suck but it doesn't mean he does.
