Yes. He should stay home on Saturday night. I'm sure he had no problem collecting his game check. He just had 21 months to go bowling on Saturday night. That's 84 Saturdays in a row he can go out. He didn't think it'd be a bad look to sit out this game and go have fun the night before?

This wasn't a situation where he's got a bum left wrist and he was just out because he wasn't playing anymore. He was supposedly recovering from a debilitating illness. And now all of a sudden there's reports that he's 100% and will play Thursday night. The flu came and went that quickly?

Exactly, every report said there was alcohol on his party's table, non could say if Bell was drinking. But The OP stated Bell was out Drinking all night. The Orange pants should be worth a 6 game suspension though. Bears need a RB....

He was sent home because DRs feared he was still contagious. Gase stated he showed to practice and said he was up to playing but the team didn't want to chance getting other players sick.

Does it matter? It's an illness that zaps your energy and everything a doctor recommends when recovering from the flu is fluids and rest.

It was just a dumb move. This isn't a small operation. He's an extremely public figure. He didn't think anyone would notice?

Sometimes players need to realize that they are different than your every day citizen and they are subsequently compensated as such and should act as such.

This isn't a ten year veteran who finally got a day off while sick. He just had a nice long vacation from the league.

And it's ultimately made into a larger deal than it is. But it was a poor decision.

It is certainly better to see all the evidence but I don't see anything here coming close to "ruining someone's character.". That's why I suggested that he be considered neither guilty nor not guilty of what anyone might see as an indiscretion or infraction of some unwritten code.

you would have to be one naive person to believe Le'Veon Bell was at a bowling alley until 1 AM and wasn't drinking

How would Gase know that Bell was out at the Bowling Alley while it was happening?

It actually goes back to the days of Freeman McNeil and Johnny Hector. They were the last two RBs (along with Adrian Murrell a few years later) who were drafted by the team that were worth a darn except for Powell. We traded for Martin, and the others were FAs.

Adrian Murrell was a decent back for the jets. Thought it was kinda funny though that as a rookie he briefly held out of training camp because he thought he wasn't offered enough money. A little unusual for a FIFTH ROUND pick.

Gase makes it his business to keep track of his players--that kinda thing is right up his alley.

I said it's a poor look but at the end of the day, it's a non story. If he were a Pats player,Saints player, a player on a winning team, it never makes the press.
But no reason to twist what it is into something it's not. Like Sam getting laid a few weeks ago..... He showed up to practice, said he felt ok to play so he wasn't dealing with a debilitatingI illness as someone suggested above.
He had an illness, felt better, team didn't want to risk anyone else getting sick....

With people there who took video and photos to make a big storyo him being out, yet none were able to confirm he had been drinking.
If he had, that would have been the headline! Your naive to think otherwise! What are you going to tell me next, he drove home drunk too?

Bowled a 251 with the flu like a stud.

Also the docs said he should get out and be active, and he went with family and friends that flew out to watch him play Sunday but couldn't. People need to chill out

if he played for a winning team he would not be out drinking the night before a game in the first place

Darnold's situation was different. It was after a game. after a win even. If you win a game you can party all you want. if you are home sick, you shouldn't
