Good move. When Herndon comes back next season, Gase can move Griffin to Center!!! No but really, having both Griffin and Herndon at the same time next season will be really nice. Kinda like Gronk and Hernandez (I know). Hopefully Griffin isn't running with the Bloods. Usually under 2 TE sets teams are looking for max pass protection or max blocking for Bell. Releasing Griffin into a pattern has worked really well. Griffin sells the blocking really good. Being able to send Griffin and/or Herndon out into a pattern, or keep them both in to block, who knows?, will be really good for a non-predictable offense. Can't wait!
He's a pleasant surprise and decent target, but you gotta factor in regression to the mean. So I'm not excited, but I'm not upset either.

Come on man- you think this guy would dog it? He’s not a superstar like Mo was becoming. Griffin is a small step above JAG. And I like that. I loved Mo in the first contract years. I have his jersey to prove it. What a class act, good character guy. Grew up in Elizabeth which is a shit hole. I think he got pissed the Jets fucked him and once he broke his leg and got his cheese, he mailed it in I just don’t see Griffin in the same arc as Mo. This is only my opinion.

Pleased he has got a 3 year deal and at a good price for us, I don't think he was given many opportunities at the Oilers to showcase his ability, one huge season in 2016 with 50 receptions but the next closest was 24 receptions last year. He has looked good for us, hopefully he will continue to do so.
He's been a good player for the Jets. Unlike the other guy who got suspended, then pulled a hammy or whatever it was then got reinjured again. We need guys we can depend on. Reliable football players not unreliable football players. Now he needs to continue to do what he's been doing not get satisfied, relax now that he's been paid. Stay hungry.
