I know we have musicians, and others that may be able to help me out. Long story short I was selling some stuff, guy offered a trade and this is what I got. He had no COA and did not know who signed it as he got it from someone else. If anyone can figure out who signed these I owe you a beer.
Genuine Fender? If it has a serial number you should be able to work out its age (roughly) which will help to estimate value. No help on the sigs, sorry. Interesting no bar on it though so it's unlikely to be a used guitar from a well known virtuoso.
I've gotten all of my autographs obtained from in person meetings authenticated by JSA. They basically use forensic handwriting detection to determine if the stuff is real or not. They have an office in Parsippany. You may be able to have one of their team members look at the sig and let you know who it's from. https://www.spenceloa.com/services
My rabid Jets fan friend, Vinnie, builds, repairs, and customizes guitars. He just opened his own shop (finally). I texted him a photo of it and this is what he said: "Do you have a picture of the headstock of the guitar? Signatures are tricky and it certainly helps to know who they are; but it could be someone's bar bandmates. Knowing more about the guitar itself would help me know the value sans the signatures." EDIT: He just texted more right after I posted: "It's a Strat, but is it a Fender Strat? American, Mexican, Japan, lots of variables all effect the price. Is it a Squire? That's a low level Strat, the headstock will help answer some questions." Get back to me @The Waterboy, and I'll pass it along.
. .WB, try forwarding your inquiry & pix to a dealer, e.g. https://rockstargallery.net/collectibles/signed-guitars/ .
^No problem! I just texted him the additional photos. Right now he's watching the Battle for the Planet of the Chumps, a/k/a Jets vs. Giants. Wait, I'm watching it, too . . . :/
So, it's not a Strat but a cheap Chinese knockoff. Safe to say the guitar itself is pretty worthless then.
Clearly worthless. A simple Google search would tell you. What kind of musician worth his salt plays a guitar from WalMart?
So if a kid brings a Walmart football to be signed by Joe Montana it's clearly worthless? Not every autographed guitar is going to be a top of the line brand the musician plays. Sometimes someone may ask a them to sign a cheap guitar the autograph seeker provides.
