1st rule of GM, never trash your HC publicly. same way coaches don't trash their players publicly. I wouldn't put much stock into that but also people judgiung gase based on miami and our 1st 7 games of a brutal scheudle with luke falk at QB for half them is a joke as well. Not to mention no o-line. to put it in perspective Billichick coached 5 seasons with the browns. only 1 season had a winning record. his total record was 36-44 it took him 5 years to get a HC gig again, his 1st season with NE they were 5-11 and a team that was only 2-3 years removed from a superbowl appearance and had his FQB in bledsoe who was the one who took them to a SB. They could have canned him there. instead in year 2 he won a SB and the rest is history Pete caroll 1st HC gig was the jets. he went 6-10 and was fired, 3 years later he was HC of NE. made the playoffs 2 years out of 3 and never had a losing record but was fired. he went to college and came back 10 years later. started off with 2 losing seasons in seattle but didn't get fired. then 2 years after that won a SB and hasn't had a losing record in 8 years You can't give a coach 1 season. we should have never fired caroll or put bill billichick in a position to walk, or poached bill parcells. you got to give coaches a chance. our real issue is ownership and GM. hopefully JD fixes the GM thing but you go to give gase a chance. the definition of insanity is trying the same thing over and over and expecting different results. playing head coach roulette every year isn't going to cut it. I say gase gets 3 years total (including this year) to right the ship or he gets canned
Belichick was a really good coordinator who couldn't get it done his first time as HC. And Carroll had success as a HC, it's just the Pats wanted Belichick. Gase can't even run a professional-looking offense without Peyton as his QB.
you are missing the point about caroll. we fired him after 1 losing season as his 1st year. he then went to NE and made the playoffs twice in 3 years. yes they fired him for bellichick and he went to college for a decade, then came back and won a SB with seattle. The point was that we as the jets fired him after 1 season and in hindsight it was a huge mistake and we should have gave him a few more years.
haha you have no idea what youre talking about. What happened today is business as usual. Tats ow the business works. No hard feelings. Te Jets didnt stab anyone in te back. If big mout players ave to take to twitter with this shit so be it. Thats the problem wit social media for sure. But at te end of teh day it doesnt urt teh Jets' chances to sign players or any stupid nonsense like that
Oh, you're talking about the Jets firing Carroll, not the Pats. The thing is, Carroll was a rookie HC. Plus there's a difference between a normal 6-10 season and what's happening here. Especially considering the offense, even with Darnold, is a trainwreck, and offense is supposed to be Gase's specialty.
i'm sure nobody seen it in bellichick and caroll when they got shitcanned as well or else they wouldn't have been shitcanned yeah the fact we gave up on him after 1 season and now seems we may do the same with gase. Trust me i'm not on the gase train at all. I wanted mccarthy. i convinced myself to like gase and tried to see the positive and still don't see it lol but i'm just saying 1 year isn't a fair assessment of what a HC can do and worse off one with as many injuries as we've suffered
Maybe Adams did get more information ,maybe the coach and GM assured him he was going no where,,,,maybe they did make the phone calls and not just field the calls,,,,,,what I am saying is we were not there and neither of us knows. I have a feeling more will come out before Adams is traded next summer
Douglas was listening to offers that called him. I'm confident in that assessment. Especially considering now there are reports that the Jets are looking to extend Adams sooner rather than later.
I got the part about Carroll being replaced by Belicheat in NE but = I thought you wrote that our LBs were playing outstanding and out playing other teams starters ? If I read that wrong my bad if not bad you
I have little doubt that Adams will be gone in 2 years if not sooner and if he is not traded he quite possibly signs with the Saints. IMO After the most recent events The jets have a slim chance of resigning him , we will see how this plays out but I no longer put blind faith in Jet GM's and Jet Coaches as now they must SHOW ME
That may be your definition of insanity but mine is hiring an unqualified guy with a history of losing and keeping him around even as he exhibits he can't improve players, put together a viable game plan or make adjustments on the fly. His own boss has now publicly recognized his inability in getting the players to actually show up on game day. .
