The 2 are near identical career wise, both have been very medicore, both have a SB win. I just seen this stat Every time I see the eli argument it's always his career numbers (which are great but due to longevity and durability and a franchise that refused to ever bench or replace him and was very loyal to him) and his 2 super bowl wins. Flacco is the same at this point and he has a few more years left in him. the ravens finally moved on from him but he's 4 years younger then eli and played 4 less seasons. He'll probably bounce around the NFL for the next few years left to pad the stats.

right now career wise flacco has a 84.2 QBR compared to Eli 84.1, he's a 61.9% passer, eli is 60.3, eli averages 3732 yards a season, flacco averages 3477. Eli has a 1.5 TD to INT ratio, flacco has 1.55. flacco has a 58% win rate, eli has a 50% win rate. They are both pretty much the same player so why is eli always mentioned as a future 1st ballot HOFer and flacco isn't?

    That’s it. Period.

And the real point is that neither belong in the Hall of Fame.

Eli goes in for the same reason Namath went in. Biggest upset on the biggest stage in NFL history. In the two SB runs Eli had 15 TD's and 2 Int's. Flacco had 1 amazing run. He was spectacular in the SB run. The difference is SF was not the greatest team in NFL history with the GOAT as its QB. Namath and Eli took down Goliath.

Eli did it twice. The first time it was arguably the biggest upset in SB history post merger. He lead a game winning drive while trailing in the 4th quarter that had one of the most iconic plays in SB history if not the most iconic moment.

Namath guarantee and walking off the field with his finger in the air up until the Giants victory over the Pats was arguably one of the most iconic moments in NFL history. People including the voters who are into NFL football have those iconic moments seared into their brains.

When you win championships in NYC as an underdog it's huge. I think anyone who was alive for the Mets 69 championship and the Jets 68 championship would argue they were special because they were so unexpected. The Giants beating that great Pats team was special and Eli had a great playoff run along with one of the most amazing plays in SB history.

The guy has not been a great NFL QB based on a career. He has represented his team well for a very long time and had arguably two of the greatest championship runs in NFL history.

The first championship was epic. They were a wild card who beat the #3, #2, and #1 seed in the NFC playoffs, then beat the only 18-0 team in history. You'll never see a better run to a Championship.

Forget Flacco, what about Coughlin? He was part of those same two upsets over the Brady/Belichick Patriots, only as the head coach he should get credit for the game plans and defensive play that were more important than Eli’s contribution. He’s also got more regular season wins than Hall of Famers like Joe Gibbs, Marv Levy or Tony Dungy. Why doesn’t he get talked about as a candidate for Canton more often, while Eli will almost certainly get in? It can’t even just be the New York media bias. It’s the Manning name, plain and simple.

Because he's going in the HOF when he's eligible.

You forgot this: . So,:mad::mad:. I hate the Giants with a passion and I usually go for the AFC because history, but yep, color me a turncoat on that one. It wasn't as if I was a Giants fan on both occasions because personally I wished that they could just throw grenades at each other, but I will say I was rooting for the Giants NOT TO LOSE. After David Tyree became a candidate for President after that catch, OK, I admit it, I danced with joy on the graves of the homeless dead.

Thank you from the bottom of my heard for quitting on the ball, Randy Moss. Oh, and for those not in the know, GPC (Great Patriot Collapse) was coined by abyzmul. He actually earned a place in history: it's credited to him on wikipedia. Hahahahaha.

So back to Eli momentarily, if that guy doesn't look retarded then I'm a Monkey's Uncle.

EDIT: I didn't find the wiki page on the first try (believe me, it exists), but this came up:

    LMFAO.
