So a QB with all of 10 starts in the NFL was expected to have the answers for the number 1 defense in the league? Seems like an asinine strategy; I wonder if Gase agrees with your ideas and had Darnold create the game plan based on his immense NFL experience.

Actually the coaching staff is expected to have the answers for the number one defense. And if they don't start off the game working, they're expected to make the changes during the game to at least slow down the massacre.

    Jets - Stop the bleeding!

They threw a few Z's in there as well.

And they are right. The Jets are horrible in every aspect of the game.

No wonder he's always wearing a cap on the sideline. LOL

Gents, the past two pages of this thread look waaaaay too familiar. And I supported this clown for 2-1/2 years.

His teams are tragically unprepared. He tries to jam his game plan down everyone’s throat, refuses to adapt his schemes to the strengths/weaknesses of his players, and absolutely cannot make adjustments.

The problem is Gase. It has been, and it will be until he’s gone.

I'm done with Gase after last night. I was waiting for Sam to come back and then I would evaluate him, but holy dogshit, what the hell was that shit? I'm in the damn stands and I realized they checked to Cover-0 every single time we came out with 5 wide. How come it took this jabroni an entire half to realize this? What the F was he thinking? Sam was absolutely horrible but Jesus Christ, Gase did the kid NO FAVORS whatsoever. You can't run deep developing pass plays when there is 7 rushers vs your 5 shitty OLinemen. There were no throws to help settle him into the game and calm him down after the opening drive INT. There were guys running open later in the game when the Jets finally stayed away from 5WR or empty set, but the damage was done - kid was already shook and you could see it in his footwork, high throws, and just missing open guys.

I don't blame the kid for seeing ghosts. He was running for his life the moment we got the ball up until when the clock said 0:00.

I liked what he was saying to Darnold on the sideline before the half too, but at some point he's got to be responsible for making adjustments to help the kid out too. Making calls that make it easier for him. We saw none of that.

This is the 4th game out of 6 we basically lost the game in 1st quarter.

Defense has now given up points in their first defensive series 4 out of 6 games, 3 with Touchdowns (remember the Bills first possession resulted a TO down at Jets deep territory).

I don’t know how this team prepares itself before game days. Whatever Williams and Gase is doing isn’t working. Obviously this team cannot play catch-up. I personally don’t think Gase prepares the team well. Bowles, Rex did much better.

I don't understand how we can let free rushers in unimpeded almost every play with no adjustments. We had this problem to a lesser extent last week but Sam covered it up.

My second problem was leaving Sam in the game. It served no purpose. He checked out mentally in the 2nd quarter and it served no purpose keeping him in the game in the 3rd and 4th quarters except to expose him to injury and further erode his confidence.

That game last night was beyond awful. It simply could not have gone worse. It was all my my 55 years of Jet nightmares wrapped together into one game. I think I am officially ready for the off-season. Is it too soon to start talking about the draft?

Quit the bullshit excuses. By your dumbass logic, the rest of the teams on the Pats schedule mine as well forfeit then since they are the number 1 defense and are doomed before they even take the field.

Remember when all Gase needed was Darnold to be back? Those were the days.
