I agree but we have missed on so many picks that shouldn’t have been long shots. We need a Seattle legion of boom type draft class to make up for it.
Was that the son trying to steal signals during markups and was subsequently ushered off of the field?
at this point with injuries and lack of depth he may wind up being a starter at some point this year. Would be nice if he goes beast mode for us and helps fill 1 hole there.
And the legend begins Blessaun "your heart" Austin! Lockdown corner for the NY Jets! Will go down with the likes of Revis, Ty Law and Aaron Glenn!
I loved this draft pick on draft day and I am still liking it today. Lots of upside with 1st or 2nd day talent but high injury risk. The reality if a 6th round pick makes any contribution ever its more than you can expect from a 6th round pick. Cannon is a good example of a successful 6th round pick becoming our best ST player. But this guy has actual upside to be a decent player. I hope he pans out. We could sure use a lucky break at CB.
It wont be a plate of gold I can assure you...I wish I could be in a dream like state about everything Jets related and applaud every move etc...I would love that to be the case but unfortunatley Blessuan Austin will most likely be driving a Taxi by this time next year.
This guys injury record makes Dee Miliner look like Brett Favre. If he gets through the pre-game warm up without discolating his knee, I'll be very surprised.
That one kind of stings considering the Iron Man, Brett Favre, had his one season altering injury with us.. You nailed it. 6th and 7th rounders fill out the team and cover kicks. If they end up doing anything more than that it's a resounding success.
We really didn't even need to draft a DB...with Polite on the edge tearing up QB's there'll be no passes to defend!
Just watched the game and my first move was to come on here and look for reviews on this guy. This was my first look at him and I have to admit I'm pretty impressed thus far. I wasn't expecting much but he looked a lot more physical than I was expecting, didn't look overwhelmed or anything and seems to have a little bit of an attitude/sparky spirit which is cool. Actually to be honest a whole platoon of Mac's suspect draft picks (Shepard, Bless, Wesco got a couple of friggen critical 1st downs, Edoga looks a lot more comfortable on the right side) at least chipped in a little bit today. I know that's not anything earth shattering but honestly at this point...… I'll take it.
Honestly compared to the rest of the space junk in the Jets secondary he was actually not an embarassment.
I saw Williams discussing him in a press conference earlier in the week and I got the impression (even attempting to filter out some of the obligatory rah rah BS) that he felt like he might be a legit player. Maybe he'll be a nut that somebody successfully remembered where our blind squirrel GM buried.
