They had McLellan outside a bit when Hewitt went down. And then McLellan went down shortly after I think.
on Nickel packages the ILBs play outside since there are only 2 and the OLBs shift down to DE and the DEs shit to tackle spots. depends on the package. Mclellan did go out with a concussion and hewitt came back he's a 6th round draft pick. it's a bonus if they do anything in the NFL. for a 6th rounder we got plenty out of him. he's on the browns PS right now. don't forget they also have hunt coming back in a few weeks. there were worse RBs taken before him. also that draft class was loaded with RB talent funny enough. In a perfect world we would have drafted chris carson who went in the 7th round. here is a list of the stud RBs from that class fournette, Mccafrey, cook, mixon, kamara, hunt, conner, cohen, marlon mack, aaron jones, chris carson. The seahawks took penny in the 1st round who is a bust so far (27th overall) and carson their 7th rounder beat him out and is their starter. the texans took foreman right before the steelers took connor.
Langi is a waste of space oh well McClellan is a top ST player and was signed by JD so he isn't getting waived so fast
The Jets also brought in a lot of edge help via the waiver wire etc. Basham has played well on the outside, Jenkins is the other OLB. Then you have Copeland coming back, in addition to Willis (just got from Bengals) who's shown lots of promise as an edge rusher. Not to mention a Franklin-Myers who they just obtained. Langi likely was the move to be made here but the Jets must feel he's a better fit for the roster than Luvu.
