Note this includes every route and every WR on every pass play for every team in the NFL. What this means is that while we look badly at the o-line (and for good reason) that there are players downfield open to throw to. It shows that maybe the playcalling isn't as bad as it seems and the issue is just gun shy QBs with siemian and flak who would rather check it down then make the throw deep downfield or that the QBs just aren't finding the open WR. On most plays you have 3-4 WRs in route meaning on average someone has been open every play

  2. Id be curious to know if this data is somehow skewed.Example, suppose defenses are flooding certain areas of the field w defenders to take away the perceived threats of the Jets passing attack & leaving portions of the field and certain jet receivers open.

Yeah it's called stacking the box because Bell is the only guy worth caring about.

So does this mean Adam Gase’s scheme is somehow working? Our QB just can’t hack it

maybe because all the pass defenders are instead watching the pass rush get to the QB's. LOL

3 and outs is one of the most important offensive stats...

They're stacking the box for Bell, they know the QB is no threat

i get everyone saying that they are stacking the box for bell and probably leaving some of our lower on the depth chart players, but on the other hand, if the qb had it together those guys would at least be seeing a pass their way

As is usually the case when you don't have a QB, and a soft OL.

probably wont know until tomorrow or friday. word is he's getting closer but to me still seems like a 50/50 shot he plays this week so questionable. depends how practice goes the next few days. to be fair as good as mosely is, cashman and hewitt have played great in his place and ILB isn't an issue

Cashman get's bullied in the run game, but if he were opposite an all-pro linebacker

Yes, at which point they'd cover the receivers like normal. So we wouldn't be first in the league in open receivers anymore.

Screen passes, passes behind the LOS and 3.2 yards per attempt AVG definitely skews the #s.

Eagles were the first team to stack the box so that's not really the main reason.
Edit: It's kind of like celebrating us being top 5 in red zone efficiency and ignoring only having 3 trips in the Red Zone in 4 games.

    That was my first thought.

Our receivers are wide open.....behind the line of scrimmage!...

It's why the #s appear high. Our recievers are behind the LOS or just over it.

In fairness to Gase, it's the players failing to execute. He draws up the play with them getting 8-10 yards after the catch. They must not be studying the playbook in their off time:confused:
