If coaches don't make any difference, why have them?

Because they do make a difference. Good coaches get their players to perform beyond their norm; poor coaches don't players to even achieve their norm

Guess which kind of coach we have?

    Meh

Gase has clearly been exposed as incompetent.

Not letting Falk get 1st team snaps all week? Not doing anything better or creative AFTER a full bye week?

He’s a loser on so many levels.

    Fire Gase Now

Hey! Fire the coach if it makes you feel better. But blaming coaches is talk show stuff.

You can't evaluate coaches until they have the players. But hey fire them if it makes you feel better.

I am not advocating for firing the coach for the sake of changing the coach. I've said time and again for Bowles and for Gase that once these guys are here the quickest way for our franchise to turn things around is with the current coach. Supporting them and letting them build things the way they want.
I get the roster has holes but the offense looks like it CAN'T PLAY FOOTBALL and when you get to that point something needs to change. The Dolphins are universally panned as the worst team and I've seen them go into games as huge underdogs and put up a fight and keep games close for at least a half. The Jets literally cannot get a first down. I don't care if you're playing back ups that's not acceptable.

I certainly don't think he'll fix it, and you know why? Because he hasn't shown any ability to make the adjustments needed to at last make the offense something more than putrid. Or to look at it another way: He's seen his offense struggle all four games, but NOW he's going to fix it? Why now? Why not Game 2, or Game 3, or Game 4? And yet we see the same types of plays and performance! So what makes anyone think Gase has the answers to fix this?

And your solution is to fire the coach?

He had the players Game 1, and the offense struggle then too.

But who picked these players? He could've cut the ones that sucked - if actually knew how to evaluate that, but clearly he doesn't. No one is exceeding their norm, no one is stepping up, because Gase doesn't motivate them to.

But hey, you want to keep waiting for more proof, that's up to you.

That's not true. Even if you're playing with the worse players in the league the coach has to coach. Look at the other bad teams. they have bad players, bad o lines, some have rookies playing at QB, none of them are even close to horrid on offense as we are. I do not understand why this is even an argument.

Hold the coach accountable and if he can't put a team on the field that looks like it knows how to play the sport than yes he can go.

If you're keeping track .... and I am ... Gase's teams have now scored 17 points or less in 27 of the 53 games he's coached. And that's not just the offense. That's counting the whole team. If I did some digging and took out D and ST scores it would be far worse than that.

Gee ... I wonder if the coach has anything to do with that?
    What do you think?

I really thought Darnold looked out of it in game one as well. But hey fire the guy if it makes people fell better. Maybe the should put Mehta in charge since posters are quoting him so much. I haven't watched anything but the red zone the last few weeks because I thought the Jets had no chance. A first for me since 1968. Too bad they never get in the "Red Zone".

That's why he's such an offensive genius. ANYONE can win when the offense scores points. It takes a superior mind to win without scoring.

Who was the QB for all of these games?

Probably has more to do with it

No. It has something to do,with it. But not more to do with it.
17 points or less in more than 50% of your games is a disaster.
And most of that is on the coach.

Nah every single one of those games had a QB that isn’t even starting right now (except 1 game with Mono Darnold)...backup caliber or worse

Can’t make chicken salad out of chicken shit with a bad QB in the NFL

Not even saying Gase is good but it’s ridiculous

The majority of those games were played by QB's who were first round draft picks.
We're not talking about a parade of 3rd stringers.
His record is what it is.

You think we'd be scoring 27 points a game with Sam?
    Don't hold your breath.

Maybe why that's why you're willing to ride it out.

I don't care if they ride it out. I just don't think coaches matter as much as most fans do.
