I agree I don't think Chad was rushed back. At the time no QB had ever returned to play in the NFL from that injury, but newer surgery techniques helped Chad. His shoulder was never going to get any stronger again. It just was what it was. And when Chad came back we went 10-6 so he couldn't have been too bad off (I know it was an easy schedule that year).
if he gets cleared Friday, he will see the field on Sunday. Imagine the Jets going into the halftime locker room down 13-0 with a completely hapless Luke Falk. Darnold will be grabbing his helmet.
the steelers are actually quite piss poor overall at WR now. Not much better then us at all and that's only because we are down enunwa and DT. Juju isn't doing good without AB opposite of him, and outside of him they don't have anyone as good as crowder. but all their rest are better then bellamy and berrios. and yeah the Bengals looked like us. no o-line, no blocking, no holes in the run game, no time for dalton and nobody for him to throw to really.
New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold will practice on Wednesday according to Brian Costello of the New York Post. Head coach Adam Gase says Darnold's status is still day-to-day and added they will "see how it goes". At the very least, Darnold will take part in team drills but it is unclear whether he has finally been cleared for contact. It is hare to believe last year's No.3-overall pick is in any kind of football shape after battling mono but the practice does potentially put him on track to start this Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Despite the Eagles being favored by 13.5 points, this is a good spot for Darnold and the passing offense after Philly was lit on fire by Aaron Rodgers last week
It just makes no sense to play him. Forget the spleen for a second, the guy hasn’t thrown a ball for close to a friggin month. He’s not gonna be ready and its just gonna hurt his confidence / development Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Correct me if I am wrong Enlarged spleen = chance of death = no play Non enlarged spleen means no chance of death ( by hit to spleen, or at least no more a chance than any other player in the field) Yes? People need to stop acting like the jets are considering some major medical malpractice
he's literally throwing balls as we speak. he's a pro athlete. you think not throwing a ball for a few weeks means he will forget how to?
exactly. nobody knows better if it's safe for sam to play then the team doctors. surely nobody here. and nobody on the jets is going to risk his life over 1 or 2 games. he's an asset that they want to protect and be on the team for the next 10+ years. you don't risk that over 1 or 2 games
Bingo. If he's cleared. He plays. If he isn't and can get severely hurt - he doesn't play. Very simple decision
yeah, they are babying the kid QB. a spleen is either enlarged or its not, Darnold is either cleared for contact or he's not. there's no need to hold his hand, he's a grown boy, excuse me, a grown man. -- Its not just posters here though. At Gase's press conference today the exchange with the media went something like this: Gase: "Darnold has been cleared to practice but with no contact. But nobody will be hitting him anyway" Media "....does that mean he should be listed as..... limited??" Gase: "yeah, sure, limited sounds good." Media: "so when you say.. 'he will practice'.... do you mean he will participate on the field in team drills?" Gase: "yes" Media: "run through plays and sets with the offense?" Gase: "yes" Media: "so... if he's on the field running through the plays, what do you tell a defensive player who might slip and have their helmet jab right into Darnold's abdomen?" Gase: "I tell him: don't slip" -- holy hell people. this isn't uncharted territory here. Sam Darnold will be ok, you can sleep easy, he's being taken care of...
It's time we not baby yet another QB and let them do their job. If Sam gets cleared to play he should play.
