Again, look at those first six seasons for Landry. How many coaches in today's media climate are surviving that? Guys are routinely fired after 1 or 2 bad years. Routinely. There might be the odd exception here or there (and btw, Marvin Lewis has never had a 6 year stretch like that - FYI, since he started coaching in 2003, Marvin Lewis has had only four losing seasons, in total), but the fact remains that coaches just don't get the chance to have more than a few bad seasons in the VAST majority of cases in today's NFL.

Didn't Rex get 6 years? I think Bowles should get 3 more years to show what he can do. He's not the best Jets coach ever nor is he the worst. Its not like we're going to the SB next year or the year after that.

So, if Bowles gets the same consideration with the same results, Macc can make the case for hiring HIS man.

Sure, but I think there is an imagined divide between the two by members of this forum

Just like we're repeating the Fitz thing, there's a dysfunction between Mac and Bowles like Idzick and Rex. Deja vu all over again as Yogi might've said. :)

but then you hear that mac took defensive players because bowles told him too. once the hatred flows in, the logic flows right out.

swing in a miss on another qb and that will happen, may take 2 years though

  13. You might find this shocking but I actually would like them to prove me wrong.I think Bowles & Mac are smart, solid people w integrity.Id love for them to be the long term solution..I really would.Mac is very talented at evaluation & I like his style.Bowles is a man of integrity, class & keeping the drama behind closed doors. These are GOOD football men.I totally recognize that. But god I’m tired of losing, tired of drafting Defense & Tired of polished turds at QB

I've had a lot of fun watching them this season. It's all about perspective.

why would i find that shocking,? most of us want the same thing. only a few irrational posters want them to fail so they can scream told you so.
this regime started off on a strange foot and i really think the ik punch sent them down a path they had not intended on going. i didn't want fitz back in 2016 but i understand why they doubled down on him and they couldn't have thought the team would have imploded like it did. i think they would have liked hack to take the reins but i don't think they will sit pat this year since he didn't. basically i am willing to give them a mulligan for the unforeseen 2015-2016 craziness because outside of the qb things look professional and competent .

Yeah Rex bought himself 4 years after making it to the AFCCG twice. I think next year Bowles will have to make the playoffs with what should be a much better team, especially if we go out and get Cousins. Assuming we go 6-10/7-9, making the playoffs is the next logical step. I dont care what our schedule looks like next year.

Bring him back. At least he'd have an excuse for not knowing offense.
