I just hope we don't get embarrassed. The Browns have turned into such a mouthy ,hatable team.

Darmold out, C.J. Mosley out, and defensive lineman Quinnen Williams out. Plus half a dozen other starters are hurt and questionable. I was so looking forward to the game, but now I dread watching it.

Saw a good amount of it.
Love seeing the RBs and WRs getting in 3 pt stances.
Jets uniforms were the best back then too.

Also liked how you had to earn your downfield passing with deep QB drops and little help from the refs.
Was better quality football all around.

He wasn’t getting fired for this season regardless. Not with his chosen GM at the helm.

Watching the Jets LBs body slam the Cleveland running back 5 yards out of bounds. No penalty - no call. It was just boys being boys back in 1970.

(Now days the Jet fanbase would call for the firing of Weeb and his staff after this game.)

Been rooting for the Jets for over 40 years. I’ve never been this down going into week 2 ever.
Maybe after Testeverde’s game one injury in 99...but this is right there.
But no way around it...Jets are losing by 20+ tomorrow night.
No confidence in this coach. No leadership. Lots of our top talent out.
    When does it end?
Feeling a lot like Leon Hess when he hired Kotite...I’M GETTING OLD DAMMIT!!

The Org chart prevents that from happening anyway...

Just don't see this team wining this game. After last weeks O debacle I have little faith in players ability to execute the plays called or that the game plan will be any different from last week. Indeed, no matter what the O players or HC say they are not a very functional team at this point. AS I sated in other threads, 0-6 is looking about right.

The crappy roster with key injuries excuses. Mike McCarthy takes this team to the SB.

If he tells Johnson to fuck off because he doesn't have to explain losses to him, the Org Chart won't save him.

No doubt about it--this is one crappy roster. Terrible, overpaid CB. No pass rush. Bad WRs (Josh Bellamy, really?). Old,overpaid OL which was completely manhandled by Buffalo in week 1. Sorry, I think it is all is one the former GM who built this piece of shit roster with years of bad drafting and free agent decisions. I do NOT see the jets winning 5 games this year.

Mosely being out is going to hurt big time--I'm predicting a 3 TD game by Baker...maybe 4.

Blake Cashman is going to miss at least 2 tackles and look lost. Trumaine Johnson is going to get spanked all night.

    All thanks to this man:

Yeah, but what about what happened 40 years ago? Look on the bright side and forget about Gastineau roughing Bernie Kosar for a moment. Gastineau also roughed Brian Sipe in 1979 as a precursor to more pain. It got the Browns closer to field goal range but it gets worse. How does it get worse, Gran'ma jeto? That's right, I hate kids, so I'll tell you.

Prior to the roughing call Matt Robinson, thinking the game was in the bag (idiot, nobody ever thinks that with this team), took the tape off of his injured thumb, you know, the injured thumb that he lied to Walt Michaels about? Yeah, that one. Robinson's thumb blew up like a balloon and he threw a wobbly pass that was intercepted. The Jets lost in OT and Matt Robinson never took another snap as a Jet. The home opener at Shea. Of course I was there, what else.

To be clear that was the 1979 Jets - 10 years after SB III - but not the 1978 Jets. No matter. nochampionshipjets79 says hello!:mad::mad:
Nothing like a stroll down Memory Pain. Agita. I should have named my dog that and taught him how to fetch Rolaids.

The Jets are losing big tomorrow night. The chunks started rising about 11 a.m. today.

EDIT & P.S.: Matt Robinson's middle name is Gillette. My pizza just repeated on me. I'm surprised I don't have GERD.

Did everyone just forget Carl Howard was just as guilty as RTP as Gastineau?
