Lol while funny, I think darnold's mono is just a grain of sand in the beach of stupid shit that happens to this team either through their direct actions or just shitty luck Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
Beat Cleveland. Lose against New England. Go into the bye week 1-2 with Darnold returning. We can still be good. The only real concern I have is for Monday night, because we sure as hell were not beating New England even with Darnold, let alone without him
I see some people saying 6-8 weeks where the Jets are focusing on week 5 vs Philly. That would be 2.5 weeks earlier than most are saying. Is that realistic or does it all vary on a case by case scenario?
I think there might be some overreaction to mono. It all depends on the individual and the treatment. He may be fine in 2-3 weeks after the bye.
The first positive thought in this thread. Clearly you don't belong among us. Be gone and let us be cursed forever!
Well, the Jets have actually had worse weeks. Remember the week Al Toon retired and Dennis Byrd broke his neck?
What he really meant to say is "I hope CJ plays lights out for the next few weeks" We all know what happens when he's not in there. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
Mono is interesting. I have seen people bounce back in a couple weeks, others take a couple months, and others whose health was permanently messed up from it. They need to be really careful with Sam here. Obviously he is a Pro athlete and his body is stronger than most, but can't be too careful. It really weakens your body too, so even when he is healthy, he may need a few extra weeks to get into football shape. I'd target November 3rd at Miami or maybe November 10th hosting the Giants as a return date for Sam. But at that point, the Jets could be dead. Hard to know. Maybe he is Superman and will return Week 5 against the Eagles. Time will tell.
I had mono in my 20’s, couldn’t work for a month and lost about 10lbs, which is a lot when I was only about 170 at the time.
Unreal, I've been looking forward to this Monday Night game all off-season. I thought it would be a showdown between the #1 and #2 Quarterbacks drafted last year, two up and coming franchises , we'd be hot off a win against the Bills and the whole nation would be watching. Now this....
Marry/Fuck/Kill Marry - trading down from the top 3 pick to load up with draft picks Fuck - Drafting an OT with that pick Kill - Drafting a DL
This isn't a big deal for most people. It can be a very long issue for athletes. It's fairly typical for the spleen to swell. If that happens it could take months for him to get back. I wouldn't be shocked if he ends up on IR for the year. If he was an accountant he could be back in a week or two. The fact that he's an athlete in a contact sport makes it much more dangerous.
