Gotta love this dude's determination. That alone is worth a try out.

Why the heck not? Plus he's nailing 75 yarders on his video. Wow...

Give the man a chance to compete. The question will be how is he under preassure. Can we sign him to the practice squad to start?

Is there a list yet of who will be trying out?

That Looks good in a controlled environment No linebacker running at you or 45,000 fans screaming at you to miss or the game on the line...In the same breath give the guy a tryout he couldn’t be any worse than what we already have

He was. I didn't understand why the Jets didn't sign him, but perhaps they did. They may have contacted him and he responded that he was only going to re-sign with the Falcons or retire. If that wasn't the case, then I think Douglas made his first big mistake.

I wonder if poor Vedvik will get a chance to participate.

And I also wonder about this guy with the sign. He couldn't worm his way into any of the 32 open camps for a tryout somewhere this spring and summer? While it could be a nice story this seems more than a little shaky.

Wouldn’t hurt to try out the 75 yd guy. I feel the situation is dire enough to warrant it.

There is something more going on here. I find it very hard to believe that 3 kickers in a row can't even make an extra point, the easiest play in football. How do you even get a job kicking when you can't convert a chip shot?

I don't know if it's snapping or holding or poor protection, but every XP/FG attempt looks like a huge struggle just to get the snap off. It's completely unacceptable.

The missed FG was not on him. It was 100% on the holder who looked like he was trying to catch a bar of wet soap. But nobody wants to mention that because it would interfere with being able to complain “OUR KICKER SUCKS, FIRE HIM”

There within lies the problem. They don't have jobs. The one who had a job before us got fired from it after a few weeks. We brought on a bunch of turds... someone who already stunk, someone who has never been in the league and a project that never kicked in a game then got cut for being bad.

The Jets would be dumb not to give this sign guy a tryout...if only from a PR standpoint.

Anything to take some attention away from Sundays disaster...

I'm on board. It was a minor shock Crosby kept his job with his salary over him. That's who I wanted in the first place. Let's do it.

I don't care if his name is Fred FuckMeDead as long as he makes his kicks.

Yeah, I was just reading he had a good camp and was close to even with Crosby. If so, I wonder why the Jets claimed Vedvik, who was terrible for the Vikings, instead of Ficken in the first place? Odd.
