Jets will work out kickers on tuesday

    Head coach Adam Gase said after the 17-16 loss to the Bills that the team would talk on Monday about next steps. Jason LaCanfora of CBS Sports reports that the team’s decided to bring in other kickers for a tryout on Tuesday.

    There’s no word on which kickers will be in for the workout, but they took a look at Cody Parkey and Younghoe Koo before claiming Vedvik.

    Good to see that they aren't considering giving this guy a third strike. Missed PAT & FG is enough for me. Give this guy a one way ticket back to Norway.

    We should call the Dolphins and trade for their kicker. He was perfect yesterday. Kicked a 54 yard FG. The Fish would probably trade him since they are in full tank mode and can't have their kicker making 50+ yard kicks.

    I'm sorry, we passed on having a Younghoe on the team? C'mon! Think of the jersey sales and field day the announcers would have! "Younghoe drills another one deep!" "Younghoe really finessing those balls today!" etc. etc.

    Guy standing outside the Jets facility with a sign listing his college kicking credentials has called into the Boomer & Gio morning show on WFAN, hoping for them to use their Jets connections to get him in for tryouts. He flew in from Salt Lake City for this. After an extended conversation and reviewing youtube highlights, Boomer has sent a text to Adam Gase.

    He legit thought it was open tryouts. Only thing about that video is that those are high school or college goalposts. A lot of those would be misses on NFL posts

    I just noticed this also.

    Still crazy how easy he makes those kicks look.

    Granted, there's no pressure and players rushing in his face, but he has a cannon!

    And not for nothing, but that idiot we signed from Minnesota this past weekend couldn't even hit a field goal in pregame warm-ups. This guy hitting them here is already a move in the right direction :D

    Supposedly someone in a Jets polo was talking to him outside the facility. Give the guy a shot. Who cares at this point. We’ve already had a kicker retire before he got cut. Whatever.

    Let him compete against all the others. How many other kickers are coming in today? What’s one more kicker for a tryout? We have nothing to lose at this point.
