Not with the way they played the first three quarters. The Bills' offense didn't even look like they belonged on an NFL field. Then all of a sudden wham bam one guy goes out and the whole house of cards falls apart.
I'd be more optimistic if literally every reason we lost wasn't something we knew could be a problem long before the game started. And the Bills aren't that good. If we can't beat them at home, we don't deserve to be in the playoff conversation.
When after 0-6 three of the next four games are on the road and the one home game will be against the Giants.
It was ugly, real ugly. The defense looked absolutely pathetic at times. If the Jets draft another DT in the first round they should lose their first round picks for several years. Clearly that has been one of the dumbest strategies in the history of modern football for the past decade. Their pass rush is beyond anemic. Their O Line was sooo bad today. Darnold wasn't very good but a large part of that was the Buffalo defense in his face all game. He had almost no time to setup back there.
And yet despite giving up a fifth for him, and thinking man, this guy really sucks we need to cut him, we swooped in and said we need this guy.
Darnold flat out missed some big-time throws that would've tilted the momentum of this game in our favor. That's concerning, no doubt. However, the O-Line was manhandled and the Offensive play-calling was conservative and uninspired. So, its hard to decipher what actually went wrong here. Obviously Darnold was never comfortable or able to get in any kind of rhythm. The utter collapse of the defense without Mosley's leadership was equally as alarming.. But one thing is for sure. When you trot out a bum-ass fucking kicker, to where a successful goddamn extra point is a stretch, it affects the psyche of the ENTIRE team-- especially the offense. With Myers, or basically, any of the other 31 starting kickers in the league, this is a W, no matter how ugly the rest of the game was played. Get a fucking kicker in here, IDC what it takes. NUMBER ONE priority for Douglas should've been bringing in (at the very least) a competent kicker. Otherwise every close game (we'll be in a number of them) becomes an automatic loss. Shameful
I'm saying if we manage to get a win by about the 7th or 8th game, that'll be good considering what we saw today.
What game were you watching? The interceptions were fluky bounced passes off a thigh and hand, and a fumble on a fluke center/QB exchange since the center hasn't snapped with Allen all offseason until last week. Outside of those plays, the Bills offense went up and down the field on the Jets in the first half. Allen finished the half with 150 yards passing (half of a 300 yard game). Those 3 fluke plays kept the Jets in the game. Bills should've hung 20 in the first half if not for 3 completely random plays.
Bills racked up nearly 400 yards. Had good play calling and Defense gave up only 6 points. If the Bills are mediocre then I don’t know why to say about the Jets....
There was no excuse to lose this game....The defense collapsed without Mosley...the kicker sucked, the play calling was downright bad..And we didnt take advantage of 4 turnovers..If you cant win after getting 4 turnovers then your a losing football team. Final season prediction 6-10....Gase fired after one year
The Jets have a guy who shouldnt be a head coach....You dont hire a losing football coach when he gets fired...Did Todd Bowles get any offers?and they both had a similar record. No one was gonna hire Adam Gase as head coach but us...no other team in the league would have hired him as there head coach.
Y'all have to relax lol. The offensive line was bad but that's what happens when you have a line that's literally is being worked on the go. Remember, Winters was hurt, Beachum was hurt for most preseason and Kalil didn't play at all IIRC in the preseason. They looked out of sync and missed a ton of assignments. Crowder was great. Gase will have to gameplan to throw some of Anderson on the top of Crowder to get the big plays going. Remember Herndon is out too. They need to play better though obviously.
IMO, We kept Sam totally immobile while our OL was getting trashed, play after play. That’s what I noticed. Someone help me with that.
