People fail to see the big picture and that is this. This team was not even supposed to be mention in the same breath as playoffs. As of right now, regardless if they fall flat on their faces or if they succeed and win out, we have to be proud of everyone on this team.

First of for Chad Pennington. After 2 major injuries to his shoulder, we should be thankful that he is even able to win games for us. He has made it to almost finishing his first full season. (Knock on wood). I keep getting sick of reading all these put Clemens in post and knocking Chad. Relax you expect the unrealistic things from this guy who is thankful just to be able to throw on sundays.

Be glad we are winning. I don't think there is a nfl team that has shifted runningbacks as much as we have and yet still won as much as we have. Everyone has set running backs yet we go to different guys every week and we are still in the playoff hunt. We are the only NFL team in the hunt that does not have a solid number 1 runner.

Be grateful for what we have got. We have a great head coach and a hard working team. We have beaten expectations and if it wasn't for Sean Payton in New Orleans we could have the coach of the year in the whole league. Granted i want to make the playoffs too but even if we don't relax, it has been a good year so far and im excited to see how this team will respond to playing a lack luster game. But let's not say the season is ruined because we fall short of the playoffs. I mean we beat the Pats in Foxboro too for god sakes. Just relax and cheer on the team and remember what has already happened has already been better than we all thought. And hopefully the Jets can win out and start a playoff run. Regardless I'm proud of this whole team regardless if we make the playoffs or not.

I understand what you are saying, but starting well and finishing bad is not what we want to go into the offseason with, especially with the "soft" part of the schedule to finish things off.

With the way Miami is playing, i dont consider this schedule soft at all, plus even though Minnesota is awful going to the dome is not a cake walk. still we haven't ended the season yet

The Jets MUST finish atleast 9-7.

    Hopefully 10-6.

Anything under that would be a failure in my opinion.

When you are 7-5, that is a failure.

Who cares about what we thought before the season.

For Miami to progress from a 1-5 team and us to digress to losing to them is a failure.

EXACTLY. The fact that he can throw a ball is a f'n miracle. His weak arm is obviously severely weakened even more by those surgeries to where he has NO zip on his ball. His arms problem were over exaggerated in the past, but now, he IS that bad. EVERYTHING that isn't 5 yards away is floated; even quick outs on the sideline tend to float high.

His TD to Coles on Sunday looked like a bullet to me.

With every win the bar raises that’s the NFL. Every team drives for that and it’s on unfair to expect it has a fan.

Wow, there is no winning with you people is there. So basically if we make the playoffs and dont win the superbowl its a waste, so regardless why even bother making the playoffs if you guys will just be disappointed.

I've never wavered from my conviction that this team is an 8-8 team. I was pleasantly surprised by the win at NE. Otherwise, I haven't really been surprised one way or the other (well, maybe I wasn't expecting 0-41 at JAX). IF they can win at Minny, they've got a good chance to finish at 9-7, which would be terrific in my eyes.

I think Chad is simply still getting used to this system (remember 2002 was his second year in the Hackett system), as well as his modified throwing technique (remember how he studied his throwing motion and is now using his legs more -- it makes sence that he's overthrowing more now).

If Chad gets to the end of this season in one piece, that would put a big ghost to rest (for the offseason at least). I think he'll come back better than ever in 2007, along with a better defense and running game (I have no suggestions on how the FO will accomplish this, but that's Tangini's job, not mine).

I think you may have just disqualified all but two or three quarterbacks in the entire NFL.

Could Chad have hit the perverbial "wall"? Think about it. This is the most he's ever played in his career. His arm, like the rest of him, just might be tired.

We all wanted to see Chad play one entire season and he should make it barring injury. What we didn't anticipate was him not being physically able to endure 16 NFL games as a starting QB even after 4 incomplete seasons.

We've seen Good Chad and Bad Chad this year. I've seen nothing to warrant a long term extension or a automatic starting job next year. We've over achieved so far but what happens in year two of Tangini if we flame out?

Until Clemens beats him out, Chad is our guy like it or not for at least the remainder of this season and probably the next. I'd keep him on a real short leash though..

Cool....great news. I want a danm super bowl. Enough about how great everyone is. Winners go home and F@ck the prom queen losers sit at home and watch the play offs on television.

On a second note, i agree with you. It's time though! we should win the super bowl f@ckin 'A' soon.

Thankful to me is when its 20 degrees out and the windchill is biting through my ass, being able to get into my warm house.

Thankful for being alive...thankful for my wife and kids.

Thankful that Chad is still able to through a pass after everything he has been through? If Joe Namath hobbled on the field and got sacked 7 times in a row, should we be thankful that Joe tried?

What do we...as fans...owe any player. Im thankful Chad was able to comeback and through little soft passes all over the field? Tell Chad to put a couple million in my pocket and I will stop counting sheep everytime the throws a pass.

In all seriousness, I dont get this thread. If you were to say that we should be happy that a team that was forcasted to win 5 games this year might win 9 or 10...I would think most fans have been shocked by this season.

Again, for the kazillionth time, its not personal Chad. You are fighting your ass off every Sunday...way to go.

Im just tired of watching the weakest armed qb in the NFL every week and would like something new. If the new guy comes in next year, and completes 40% of his passes but can throw a real..a real deep ball and sting passes through coverage....Ill take it.

And if we lose with him, I promise to be the first to call for his head.

I also promise that I will not be looking back and long for the days of Chad and his 65% completition ratio. I just wont miss Chad the QB....the person yes..but not the QB.

Oh, and thanks NYJ's for a very spirited successful season.

Sorry, but this ^ makes no sense...

Starting well?? What I'm about to post is common knowledge but i think the visualization may help reality to set in. Season thus far:

    w L W L L W W L W L W W L

To me this looks like, as someone else posted, an 8-8 or 9-7 team. While I agree that losing the next three games would be a "bad finish," it probably won't happen. There is nothing to suggest they won't continue on a similar pattern and be the same team they've been all year.
