The only thing that truly concerns me about this game is special teams in all honesty. After last year, it will be hard to beat that, I've seen some holes in the ST unit in the preseason and we really don't have a strong return man like last year, matter of factly, Buffalo has our guy this year. Andre could have a big game against us, if he does, we could struggle.
If the Jets win this game it will be Darnold who has the great game. Bell hasn't played in 2 years and didn't play any preseason. He will make some plays but I doubt he dominates against this D. I hope I am wrong and you are right though about Bell. The Bills have a really good secondary. Their top CB White is one of the best in the league. Bell or no Bell the Bills will put White on Anderson and let the 1 on 1 battle begin. Jets 23-20. Should be a great game between two evenly matched teams. 5 days can't wait. Season ticket holder here section 101.
At this time last year we would have said the same thing. Roberts was a 30 y/o journeyman when he came to us.
I'll agree to disagree. Running and playing football is like riding a bike to Bell (comes natural) and i believe there will be zero rust factor. Which is why our coaching staff held him out of all preseason snaps; because they know he's re-juvinated and ready to go (they've seen what he's made of during multiple practices). If anything I feel this layoff is going to become a blessing for Bell and his legs. He'll hit the ground running come Sunday that I'm confident in. This video below was the last time the world seen Bell take the field and man did he look great.
Buffalo signed Davis Webb to their practice squad with the obvious goal of picking his brain on what the Jets have been doing. would be a good time to change the audible calls around
Bills: So what can you tell us? Webb: Hmm... Well you know they got Le'veon Bell, right? Bills: Damn. We were hoping that was just a rumor. Webb: Nope. Bills:
Buffalo will test Trumaine Johnson's hamstring early. They got Josh Allen's big arm and John Brown is a great deep threat. I suspect they will send Brown deep on Johnson right away and perhaps often. I hope the Jets are ready for that
Can't let Josh Allen escape the pocket and rack up 70+ rushing yard--we will lose the game that way. Force him to throw the ball a lot and let him prove that he improved his accuracy.
I like the part where they mention the last time Bell played Buffalo he racked up 302 all purpose yards. It really makes me excited to see what Bell can do with us. Hopefully Gase/Loggains have a plan to get Bell the ball in space.
Excited as well! I Think they mentioned a couple of times that they want to avoid a "pound the rock" mentality with Bell and use play design to keep him in space and not get pounded by the teeth of the defense. For this reason, I dont see him having a monster statistical season. I think they want to use him strategically--which I agree with. Give me a fresh Bell on 3rd and 5
Could be Johnson on Jones and double brown with Roberts and Mayes just to play it safe with tru’s hammy.
Yes but that was running behind a strong Steelers OL who also have a future HOF franchise QB ( Darnold isn't close to Ben yet) and they had great receivers that were much better than the Jets have. Steelers had great teams where as the Jets are a work in progress.
Am excited to see this game! There's a new sports bar near me that will show Jets games, so I should get to see many, if not most of the games this season. I want to see smart, tough play, no injuries, no stupid penalties or TOs.
You don't even need a sports bar being an out of state Jets fan. You can always just watch the games on Reddit. I hate sports bars trying to enjoy my team around a bunch of drunk ppl. I can't focus being around too many ppl either.
That doesn't change the fact. It would be nice to have the same result as last year but those odds look a lot less likely. Roberts actually had a solid resume in the special teams department at least.
