Yikes. Joe Douglas ain’t having a good day. Arguably two of the CBs who looked the best all summer cut along with Polite. Hes gotta be pretty confident in the waiver wire.

It’s not stupid if the head honchos don’t think he can play. Remember Douglas didn’t draft him. Why waste a roster spot on a player who obviously either doesn’t fit into his plans or simply can’t play. This probably means Douglas has identified a pass rusher out there who will be available and either has better abilities or presents himself as a better project for the practice squad.

Jesus - Mac’s ‘canny’ drafting abilities rearing their ugly head more intensely now that he’s gone.

If he goes unclaimed I’m pretty sure he will be brought back for the practice squad.

I'd like to congratulate Jachi Polite.... 1 camp is all it took for a team to give up on you. Which begs the question:did he do anything right at all lol

I would argue that Maulet and Campbell along with Mark Myers outplayed them in the pre-season

Well remember Gregg Williams has a say in it also and if he liked them or wanted one or both of them to stick around I’m pretty sure they’d still be on the team.

Campbell played one game. Maulet was awful. Brown was having a good camp and got hurt so maybe that’s it. Who knows. I mean we are talking about 5th strong CBs on any team with even decent depth.

The people in charge of cutting draft picks are not only 10X more qualified than (most) fans in terms of football IQ, but also 100X more intimate with the actual player in question. 24/7, they see his habits, his hunger, his grasp of the game, etc. They are not cutting Polite on a whim. They understand that he's young. They understand this! Polite has clearly shown the staff that he has minimal NFL potential. Who are we to judge this? Seriously.

edit: wrong thread. whatever. so obvious.

He must have been an even bigger waste of space than the beat writers described .....

It is what it is. Pretty clear Gase wanted nothing to do with Polite and when Douglas came over he didn't see anything in him either

It's a wasted pick, but I trust this new regime has a better eye for talent and culture building than the indecisive and meek Mac. Polite showed nothing. Nothing in camp, nothing in the preseason games

It was a puzzling, unnecessary pick. Most of the top pass rushers were gone by then. The Polite pick would've been more wisely used ton a corner or offensive lineman

I dont remember Polite making any plays in preseason games or reading about him in camp. I can't remember ever seeing a guy get cut out of his first camp. Crazy but they trust the other guys who are working harder with better character.

Let’s call it like it is. Other than Tru, Roberts and Poole (and possibly the Colt we traded for) the corners all fucking suck. None of them belong on an NFL field. No one should be surprised to see any (or all) of them cut and no one should be surprised when we go on a spree claiming new ones tomorrow.

The issue is, who is there to claim? Are they going to be any better than people we had learning the system all summer?
