The Jets can pick up as many players as they want. If it will improve the talent level, I'm all for it. I agree that we can use help at WR, but we can also use help at CB, OL, and most any other position other than RB, but Douglas may even see an opportunity there.
Sorry, have to totally disagree with you. There's no way that Elijah McGuire is better than Powell. Powell is an excellent runner, receiver and blocker. McGuires a decent receiver. That's it.
You're wrong, Matt. McGuire does not play specials. Besides, he adds nothing to the team on offense. He's not even in the same area code as Powell. Did Powell piss you off or something? He's been a great player for the Jets and a great citizen. I just don't get your wanting to get rid of him for that loser McGuire.
Hadn't read that so we'll see what happens, they have until Tuesday to make the decision Not sure if his $5M is fully guaranteed if he plays a game for them but maybe they bring him in and then try to trade him, they could always let him go when one of the others signs a contract/extension. Of course if his contract becomes fully guaranteed that could pose an issue for them.
Some targets who have already been cut: Shane Ray, OLB, Ravens Sam Young, OT, 49ers Elliott Fry, K, Ravens J'Marcus Webb, OT, Colts
Just my opinion, I like Bilal, but if I was the coach he would be inactive, every carry or reception he gets only takes 1 away from 26 and 88, who are better, so if active he will be like the 3rd string QB and sit on the bench with a clip board, I know he's better than 25, the problem is that kid should have been playing specials all along, coverage or return man, it just wastes an active spot if the 3rd back doesn't play specials
This has nothing to do with us but between yesterday and the way today is starting off it sure doesn’t seem like too many corners or lineman are going to be hitting the waiver wire.
The CB problem is not confined to us, it’s a league-wide issue. If we want one we’ll probably have to make a trade.
Yup. All of a sudden not having that seventh round pick is a pain in the ass. Maybe we can move on to 2021 picks.
We should put in a claim ASAP Edit: Josh Adams has also been linked to us, but yesterday Gase gushed about Powell so who knows. We wouldn’t cut Cannon for a guy that doesn’t play ST.
I agree. Powell is able to block on 3rd down. Neither Cannon, Montgomery or McQuire can fill this role well. Mcquire is a good reciever but he has not shown the ability to run or block or contribute on special teams. Powell offers a lot more versatility. This is about the third RB not the back up role. Powell is the better choice.
If we could go for players on names alone I'd go for Captain Munnerlyn and Gunner Olszewski - sounds like a daring WW2 combo. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
We should put in a claim. Doesn’t have to be ASAP as there is a time period for claims though. I doubt he gets to the 3rd claim
