This thread is awful and I'm reluctant to even contribute to it, but who actually thinks Brady would win us a Super Bowl this year??? I actually think we have a better chance than Darnold with this team because he can improvise and run around a bit. Brady would be in the bottom half of the league if he played with the Jets this year. Not sure why I even responded to this, but Brady is very much a system QB, he wouldn't do well here at all.
follow up question. when you say effective immediately, what would that be instead of? effective in 3 weeks?
I like the thread based on time of year. Another question, when NE no longer wants Brady, will he retire or go play for another team for a year or two like several other QBs who's time has come and gone? I think he'll keep playing.
So the 28-32nd overall pick in the 2020 draft and some old man for the Jets up and coming superstar QB who is 22 years old and who the Jets traded up to #3 overall to draft just a year ago? Hard pass. Since this thread has been made though, let's make it more realistic: Patriots Receive: Sam Darnold Jets Receive: 1st Round Pick in 2020 Draft 1st Round Pick in 2021 Draft 2nd Round Pick in 2020 Draft 3rd Round Pick in 2020 Draft Tom Brady Stephon Gilmore I would still say no, but at least that offer makes you think for a second.
If the Pats actually asked for Darnold, that means they think he's good. So there's no way I'd trade him then. Also this thread is 0/1 at not being terrible.
I disagree on all accounts. What makes you think we could win a SB with Brady this year? He doesn't know our offense, doesn't have any chemistry developed with any of our offensive players, Gase and he may be totally at odds with philosophy or could have a personality conflict. I don't think the fans would accept him or that he would want to play here. For argument's sake, let's say that such a trade was made and the Jets did win a SB this year. It still wouldn't be worth it to me. Winning with a QB I detest would hardly even be enjoyable. I wouldn't trade 10 years of Jets very good to possibly great play for one year's SB, either. I saw the Jets win SB III and it's been 50 years since. During that time, by and large the Jets have sucked. I want a prolonged period of time to enjoy seeing the Jets be really good and win. I think there's a very good chance that the Jets could win 2-3 SBs with Sam.
