I am guessing Rex Hogan wss behind this move.

Earlier in camp there was speculation the Jets would look to Philly for a cb who reportedly has a lot of depth at cb but it became apparent according to a report a few weeks ago that was a no go due to all the injuries in Philly. It looks like Hogan's Colts connection was plan B.

I mean roberts as a 2 scares me but outside of that yeah we aren't bad off as long as no injuries. and really CB and o-line are our only needs so not that bad at all

Well, they needed CB depth and they got CB depth. I can't complain. It's a start.

I've been saying the whole time that this trade is lower risk and lower reward than keeping the pick. I'm questioning whether that's worth it when we aren't real contenders this year, except maybe for a wild card.

Yea. I read your post wrong.
The guy has 2 years on his contract. Why would this be a bad time for such a low risk move?

Cards have a hole with Peterson suspended the first 6 games.

With a 6th rounder you would normally be drafting for measurables anyway--we traded for a guy with experience in the nfl and he still has some room to grow because of age. If he gets injured, the worst we lose is a 6th.

Because unless Darnold is the next superstar QB (though fingers crossed he is), we aren't going to get the roster Super Bowl-ready by the end of his rookie deal without numerous mid and late-round hits in the draft to make up for virtually none of them the last few years. And we just traded one of those lottery tickets for a #4 CB.

this guy has as much a chance to be part of that "super bowl ready" roster as any pick in next years draft.

Giving up that 6th round pick will be OK. Having depth in the secondary is essential. Jets need all the help they can get. The guy plays pretty decent in the slot I hear. Jets will probably draft a corner in rd1 or rd2 next yr.

With pressure up the middle on opposing QBs from q Williams and his brother Williams this will hurry a throw and it will make life easier for our less than perfect corners and back ups.

Think Scheme Scheme Scheme.(.till we draft some real talent next Spring)

The roster won't ever be Super Bowl ready if we don't start getting big time draft hits.

I'm cautiously optimistic that we'll get them with Douglas.

So am I but we can't get them without the picks, and it bothers me Douglas is so willing to trade them away.
