Bettors have spoken: The Chicago Bears and the Cleveland Browns -- and their young quarterbacks -- are public darlings at Las Vegas sportsbooks.

There are more bets on the Bears to win the Super Bowl than there are on any other team at multiple sportsbooks. The Browns are right behind the Bears in Super Bowl bets.
"It's been kind of overwhelming, the support [for the Bears]," said Alan Berg, the senior oddsmaker for Caesars Sportsbook. "Every time the Bears go to the playoffs, the following year, the money just pours in. Everybody gets optimistic."

The Bears are 9-1 to win the Super Bowl at Caesars, the fourth-best odds behind the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs, who are co-favorites at 7-1, and the New Orleans Saints at 17-2. The Browns are 10-1.

Those five -- the Patriots, Chiefs, Saints, Bears and Browns -- are the only teams that have already attracted more than $1 million in Super Bowl bets at MGM sportsbooks in Nevada.

In addition to the Super Bowl bets, Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky and Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield are the most popular bets to win NFL MVP. At the SuperBook at Westgate Las Vegas, Trubisky's odds to win the MVP have moved from 200-1 to 50-1. Only Mayfield has attracted more bets than Trubisky at the SuperBook.

"They're going wild on Baker Mayfield," said SuperBook vice president of risk management Ed Salmons, who noted that more than $40,000 had already been bet on his shop's NFL MVP odds.

Am I the only one who watches trubiski and is underwhelmed?

I'm not sure I would go so far as to say underwhelmed, but I certainly haven't seen anything that makes me think he's winning the MVP any time soon.

The Browns are obviously the hype kings of the offseason, so any predictions about them have to be taken with a large grain of salt.

Lol, the bears? Name one skill player on their team outside of Cohen. I have no idea who any of their receivers are or who their TE is. They also have a rookie RB.

The Bears have a great defense led by Khalil Mack, but the offense concerns me. I don't think they will win the North this year. The Packers and Vikings will likely be better. The Browns remind me of the Jets. If they go (12-4), no one would be shocked, and if they go (6-10), still no one would be shocked. Where are the Rams on the list? You'd expect them to be ranked higher than the Bears and Browns.

Until proven otherwise I am going with NE. Year after year NE beats up Moe, Larry, Curly to get their 5-6 division wins. They end up with 12-13 wins almost every year which gives them #1 or #2 seed in AFC. They beat the crap out of whichever team comes out of WC weekend and another trip to AFC championship game with a shot at winning another Super Bowl. Maybe this year the Jets or Bills can challenge them in the division since both appear to be getting better but I am not betting against NE. KC almost beat them at Arrowhead in the playoffs but NE found a way. The Steelers and Chargers never beat NE in big game. The Browns are this years media darlings. They finished 7-9 last year so until they actually do something I wouldn't bet on them beating NE either.

It's about where the money is going. Still you would think the defending NFC champs would be in the top 5 in odds.

However they have 3 things working against them that definitely does make it add up.

    1. Generally the loser of the SB has a rough time/hangover next season.

    2. Most people believe they got lucky because of that no call to even make it there.

    3. Gurley is such a question mark, and the guy that did good in relief last winter is gone.

I'm with you. I think the Bears are more likely to take a step back this year and possibly even miss the playoffs. They have the fifth hardest schedule this year, based on last year's records.

And as a side note, I had my first fantasy draft last night and Mr Irrelevant was TOM BRADY. It's a shallow league, just 10 teams deep and a 6 man bench, but I was shocked Brady didn't get picked until the end.

If I didn't grab him last, nobody would have picked him. NFL.com had Kyler Murray ranked ahead of Tom friggin Brady. How deluded are they?

Their TE played well in Phi when Ertz went down before signing with the bears. Burton is the last name I believe

As long as Aaron Rodgers is playing I'll pick Green Bay to take that division.

And keep that bullseye on the Browns backs. Oh yeah.

Ah yes, Trey Burton. They also have Allen Robinson, forgot about him.

You're probably right, but it's just absurd thinking a rookie that hasn't played a snap will have a better year statistically than the guy who just won the super bowl.

I certainly hope that will happen and Brady will start the downward spiral, but I wouldn't bet on it. The Patriots do have one of the easiest schedules in the league this year.

Just to make the Playoffs/Wild Card our Jets are 300 to 1

Sports betting is legal in DE ..so there goes one Benjamin Franklin wager on 9/16 (my Birthday) ;)

Okay, he must have been talking in baseball terms or maybe even cricket terms.

    Actual odds:

Jets make playoffs: 3 to 1.
Jets win division: 6.5 to 1
Jets win Super bowl: 66 to 1

I calculate, at those odds, if you put $100 on the Bears to win the Super Bowl you would...lose $100
