Braves have a lineup that can have Matz have one of his blow-ups but now we hold our breath about Jeff.

Uninspiring game, and much worse McNeil goes off with an apparent hamstring injury. That would basically drop a big fat bomb on the season.

Jeff didn't seem very optimistic. Whether it's a strain or a tear, either way, we are fucked!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, if he's out the season is over. Hopefully we get lucky and it's minor.

The Mets may have dodged a bullet here. 10 days can be an eternity in baseball, but it's no big deal because that's only 1 day in football.

I'd like to be the optimist here, but without him during this 10 day run.....

Agreed, it's a tough schedule, too. In reality, this magic carpet ride is probably coming to an end. But all in all this team could be in position to compete next year if they make a few good moves, and Cespedes is alive.

Arrieta out for the rest of the season, although he hasn't been all that great for the Phillies this year anyway.

Tough to lose McNeil for 10 days, gotta find a way to tread water and stay within 2 games of the WC until we play the Nationals again

Completely disagree with Darling's agreement with Callaway's decision to pull Matz after 79 pitches because the Mets have a 2-1 lead.

And then the first two batters reach base against Lugo.

No clue why he took Matz out when he was cruising and pitch count wasn’t an issue.
Seriously Matz retired the last 12 batter. Someone make this make sense? What was the logic? Kind of infuriating!

Callaway's idiotic decision results in the wheels coming off. Batter after batter, Lugo unable to put the hitter away. Not hindsight, and I still can't imagine what Darling was thinking in his assessment.

And of course the Mets' pathetic defense helps it along. Alonso looking like we were told to expect him to look as he lets the ball go by him, and Lugo with his head up his rear end, standing on the mound on the ground ball to the right side.

So true. With their bullpen, he seriously thought they wouldn't need more runs with the game in the bottom of the 7th?

At least when the Mets stagger in at the end of the season there won't be anyone ridiculous enough to think that Callaway should keep his job.
