The ball is always kicked from the ground; height doesn't matter.

Gase is known for winning close games which means we will be leaning on our kicker to make clutch kicks late in games. I would like to see them go after the guy on the Ravens...Joe has ties with the Ravens, make it work!

Vedvik, 25, is currently the second kicker on the Ravens' depth chart, however, the NYDN also reports the Jets were interested in adding him last offseason when the Ravens signed him as a UDFA. He was 4-for-4 in the Ravens preseason opener this year. Vedvik played his college ball at Marshall and is a native of Norway.

I would hate to see us lose a few games due to poor kicking Ala last year vs. Texans...missed 2 PAT'S.

LOL then why'd he get fired in Miami?

I do agree with you this Ravens kicker sounds like a good get. The Jets shouldn't even think twice about trading away a late round pick for him.

The Bears felt the heartbreak a kicker can bring upon a team in the playoffs last season that's why they're rumored to be the most likely team to trade for him.

Thing is we've felt that pain before too with Doug Brien!!!

The top teams value special teams.

How far the Jets have fallen from the days of Parcells & Westhoff! Now they let a Pro Bowl kicker (& a all-pro returner) walk then bring in chokers like Catanzaro and Walsh to replace him.

    You reap what you sow.

I'm happy Cantazzaro is gone but not happy he is replaced with a JAG. Hopefully this is just buying time until a better option shakes loose.

What would the Ravens kicker cost us in a trade?

No team will carry two placekickers. The Jets for sure have their eye every kicker in every camp. Since cut down day is late they probably will wait. Douglas seems to know his business.

The problem with that is, can Douglas convince Baltimore to take a 2021 7th rounder for the guy when there's already other teams interested. I'm not sure I'd be cool with trading a 2020 6th for a 2018 UDFA kicker who hasn't kicked a regular season field goal yet.

Kickers are a dime a dozen. They simply fall out of the sky like rain.

No way Bertolet will be the kicker when the regular season starts but you need somebody to get thru the remaining preseason games.

I'd prefer another conditional 7th, but would be willing to give up a 6th if they feel he's legit.

True he's never kicked a regular season FG yet, but it's not different than drafting a Kicker in late rounds no? At least he's had some pre-season action.

Blewitt Jets jerseys will be the #1 seller in the entire NFL, maybe the history of the NFL.

I think that maybe I'd do a 6th if we got a 7th back (even in 2021) but only because he can also punt in a pinch.
