2019 Preseason Game 1 - Jets vs. Giants

14-12, just recovered a fumble. Defense has been...well, a bunch of uneven backups. And catanzarro missed a PAT about as wide left as humanly possible.

.....um, well that wouldn't be my first choice :/

 

Tonight is proving that McGuire and Cannon are JAGs. The talent difference between them and Montgomery is clear.

 

Well, at least Catanzarro gets to end his Jets career on a high note.

 

Nice punt coverage by cannon though keeps him in the picture

 

I can't believe how bad this secondary is.

Sam might throw for 4,500 yards due to playing catch up.

 

He just needs to be put as far away from the KR job as possible, I see shades of Devin Smith in him

 

How much of Daniel Jones's performance was him and how much was our secondary?

 

He hit open receivers, can’t knock for that. Sam did it too

 

Who got the second TD for the Jets?

For all the hot steamy scrub-on-scrub action, not a bad first half. Other than the hour delay of course.

 

Obviously way too early to tell, but the fact that the Giants have been crucified by everyone for that pick, AND for how bad their receivers are, definitely can't be an encouraging thing for us.

 

Yeccch. Speaking of kickers, kick him in his ass. I'm debating if I should just walk my dog and go to bed. Probably that.

OK, first I see Saquon Barkley showing his abs on some mic'd up thing, then I see him eating a doughnut or an English muffin or whatever it was while playing rock paper scissors on the sideline, and now I'm watching his abs again. He's certainly nice to look at, but I'm getting bored comatose and it's not breaking the monotony.

 

Cashman got caught looking somewhere else on that tight end coverage.

 

So after the first half, I gotta ask, do we keep McGuire? Or Cannon lol

They shouldn't have been crucified for that pick. I forget who but another team was going to take Jones. If the Giants had waited until the lower pick, they wouldn't have gotten him. He's going to be at least a solid starter in the NFL. He knows how to play, has an accurate arm, and is mobile.
