If some were wondering why he never got a job in 2019, I'm sure Jets knew about this and was why they never invited him back. I was all for signing Mo due to the quality of our CB's but now it all makes sense. Cornerback Morris Claiborne remains a free agent and his unavailability for the first weeks of the regular season may have something to do with his inability to land a job. NFL Media reports that Claiborne is facing a four-game suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. Claiborne is appealing the ban and the report indicates that the number of games could be reduced, although it’s not clear when that decision will be made. Claiborne entered the NFL as the sixth overall pick of the 2012 draft. The Cowboys picked him, but Claiborne’s five years in Dallas didn’t turn out as hoped as injuries kept him off the field for long stretches. He’s been healthier the last two year — 100 tackles and three interceptions in 30 starts for the Jets — but there’s now a new obstacle in Claiborne’s way. Share this:
He’ll be signed once teams know exactly what he is facing. Probably league minimum - whatever game checks he forfeits to the suspension gives you a pretty good value at corner for a team looking at a playoff run .
I didn’t think he was that bad..very good year one..competent go above competent year 2..relatively young..I’d bring him in..even if he did get a 4 on the Wunderlich
He grabs too much. Now that teams can challenge PI, it willl be even worse. I didn’t want him back anyway, now that he will miss 4 games, especially not
I had to. It happens so rarely. Unless you ask my wife. She says I’m always right. And yet still wants to argue. Makes no sense.
I saw it was up to $3m. Idk where $1.5m came from. It’s a damn shame we didn’t re-sign him. He had a career year last year. A head scratching move not to bring him back.
I believe it's $1.5 million salary and $1.5 million in incentives. Don't know if the salary is prorated for the suspension.
