Coaches, players, analysts, writers talking about how good Leo is while Jets fans sitting behind a keyboard on the Internet talk about how bad he is will forever be one of my favorite Jets things.
Offense seems to be winning every day. Is the defense just that bad or do we actually look good? Hmmm
Time will tell but IMO the Jet secondary among other positions ( see O line to name another ) is VERY suspect
I wonder too if it's not a reflection of Leon's respect (or lack thereof) towards Williams vs. Bowles and Rodgers. Hopefully, that's not the case. But I have a gut feeling that at least somewhat, Leon lost hope/motivation under Bowles and Rodgers and was just biding his time until he became a FA. Now with Williams here as DC, he's re-energized and ultra-motivated, not only because he knows that Williams will demand it, not only because it's his contract year, but he has hopes that the team can win and become really good.
Blair Walsh is available. A few years ago he was a pro bowler. he struggled in Seattle but thats a tough place to kick. there is also the graybeards... Matt Bryant & Phil Dawson. but as well as Catanzaro is kicking, they could probably just grab a fan from the parking lot and have a decent competition
In 2019, you need a good offense to succeed in the NFL, so this is great to hear. We certainly are not used to it as Jets fans.
Man. I am back to back League Champion and one of the main reasons is I never picked Jets. I used to. It always cost me. Luckily, the Jets have been so bad lately, I did not even consider anyone. Now I am in trouble though. Bell, Darnold, Enunwa, Anderson, Crowder, even Montgomery are fantasy options. Herndon too once he returns from suspension. I'm thinking Jets fans will get some value on players because other fans won't realize their potential. We will see.
I think people are doing to Bell what they did to Kawhi. People are forgetting how good this guy actually is. Kawhi was incredible and he took a year off and people forgot.
I’m having a hard time speculating on Leo’s work ethic when there hasn’t been a negative word about him in the 4 years he has been here or the time he was scouted or the time he spent at USC. We do however, have a perfect example of a player shifting his playing weight to fit a scheme on the roster right now in H. Anderson who was dropping weight to fit in Indy’s 4-3 before being traded here and began putting the weight back on to fit Bowles 3-4.
