Bold Prediction redux...10 wins If I have the time I'll wager 100 bucks for NYJ just to make first round of playoffs ....odds should be good for sizable payoff if it happens
The 2016 team with FitzTragic won 10 games so anything is possible. Plus there is history of 1st year coaches succeeding here: Herm:. 10-6 (playoffs) Mangina: 10-6 (playoffs, 4-12 year prior) Rex: 9-7 (playoffs) Bowles:. 10-6 (4-12 prior year)
To me, this team is clearly an 8 win team. To get 10-12 wins you need quality depth on the roster and the Jets just don't have it. I'm expecting injuries to be a problem.
Agree, but think the key is the defense. In the past few years, the defense has been the more consistent half of the team. However, the offense was so bad it didn't matter how many points the D held the opposition to. Now, if the D can continue to perform as adequately as in the past (or even better with the addition of Williams and Mosley), the Jets should have enough offensive fire power to win most games on the schedule.
I think our D has been hung out to dry by short drives, turnovers and a complete lack of TOP by the O. If we can put together drives that give our D recovery time they will be improved by that alone.
I would love to see a 10-6 season. The OL is a major concern however. Hopefully the front 7 will hide our deficiencies at corner. All this being said, I am so ready for this season. Unfortunately my suck ass cable company cut SNY. Go Jets!!’
The Pats could get 10 wins in their sleep especially since they get to beat up on Moe, Larry, and Curly six times a year.
Patriots won't win more than 10 games this year and I'm not basing this off of anything other than pure gut feeling. Their time is up, they'll most likely win it this year but it won't be as dominant as it has been in the past.
I hope you are right, but that Patriots defense is scary good, they have one of the best offensive lines in the league.
Don't forget Bill and Tom. I would also feel much better about their demise if they weren't entering this season as the defending Super Bowl champions. I hope the Jets surprise everybody and have a great year obviously but this team is a work in progress. Give our new GM some time to build around Darnold and I think they can be the dominant team in the AFCE in the future but it won't be this year. Best case scenario this year is the Jets get a WC. IMHO
I agree, I see this team maxing out at like 9 or 10 wins. It won't be enough for the division, but I think we will be right there towards the end of the year. Take that momentum into next year and really shock the world.
Have too agree depth is a real problem I’m just hoping we get through the year without Sam getting hurt ....im Very concerned about the O-line...And its ability to protect Sam for 16 games...We’re also very thin at WR......one or two guys go down and were in trouble
Agree next season We could be real Super Bowl contenders if Sam continues to progress ...Douglas can beef up that O-line maybe another WR,CB help..... Overall Improve the teams depth with Sam still on his rookie deal... meaningful games in December would be great with a chance at WC Birth
