I always thought George Sauer Jr. was a much better WR than Don Maynard. Thought he was the best WR the Jets ever had that wasn't named Al Toon. I love possession WR. Moss was a freak talent. Never saw anything like him.

Some Adam Gase quotes from yesterday about Fat Leo Williams

“I don’t know what it was when he played us, but it was a nightmare,’’ Gase said. “The whole game plan was based around him until [safety] Jamal [Adams] came [last season] and then it was both of those guys. Every play we tried to double him, whether it was pass protection, run game, and it never seemed to matter. We could never run the football against him ever. He was an absolute nightmare for us. I don’t know if he turned it up another notch when he played against us, but he was problematic.’’

I like the total buy in. Is it confidence or desperation?

Nothing wrong with a little bit of hyperbole when it's your player now.

It's more confidence in the guy next to him. I think Leo is an above average player that can look elite with the right teammates.

I just cant see us throwing money at this guy when we have Quinnen. We are going to have to eventually pay for Jamal Adams and Sam's contracts and then Quinnen's who is projected to be a better pro. Either he comes back at a hometown discount at $10-$12million or I dont think it makes sense to keep him.

Sams 3 years away, Q is 4 what ever we give leo will be clearing by then. Add in the cap going up and we’ll be fine to pay the man if he has a good year.

He definitely has to wow me as this year as he doesnt have a excuse, he has Anderson and Quinnen taking some of the double teams off him. I still wish we could move him though for a position of need, but I get this isn't Madden.

We’ll see, Anderson is a product of how good leo is so I wouldn’t list him as an asset to Leo’s success. I think G Williams is the biggest reason leo will have a better year, statistically speaking.

It's so weird. It's almost as if no one is allowed to speak a mean word about our Leo.

It's possible that Leo is somewhere between scrub and game changing player.

    What double teams?

Why would opposing teams be quakin' in their cleats about facing our zero produ err hidden production stud?

And if he commanded all these double teams before why would Henry Anderson (who was here last year) and a rookie get these double teams off him right away?

College coaches, scouts and now two different head coaches , analysts, ex players all complement him. It’s almost like the only people who talk bad about him are not connected to the game.

Yeah even when he plays like dog poo which has been most of the time lately.

Hey if they can defend him after he got shut out on the stat sheet against Cleveland that's when the term hidden production was born they may never call him out.

The people who harp all over Leonard Williams due to "sack numbers" don't realize two things. 1.) Leo is not an OLB within a 3-4 not a 4-3 DE and 2.) He's rated top 5 in QB pressures/hits amongst all NFL D-Lineman over the past two years. Line him up next to Q. Williams and in front of C.J Mosley and Leonard Williams is going to feast because he's already an impact player and NFL household name. Casual fans look at his "sack numbers" and completely overlook his capability, impact and overall value to our defense. As if it's Leo's fault that all of Mo, Sheldon and Snacks are no longer here. Now as a vet Q. Williams is the best thing that's happened for him and Q. Williams having Leo is going to be huge for our rookie.

The same one's who complain about Leo's numbers are probably the same hand full of critics who used to crap all over Jamal Adams due to a "lack of INT's"; it's laughable.
