In peripheral Mets news, Matt Harvey is done with the Angels, or more accurately the Angels are done with him.

It’s very easy not to feel sorry for him.

Agreed, it's like all that practice with slow pitches makes them more likely to swing at bad stuff. He's just got to get his mind back into the game.

Well, that was a joke! Terrible communication. Should have been a routine fly ball.

Quite the fall, but he managed to get $11 million out of the Angels, and if he's smart he hasn't spent a penny of it. Pretty good job managing to parlay 65 starts by the age of 26 into $26 million for a 19-31 record with a 5.65 ERA and 1.468 WHIP since then.

The Angels invested $28.5 million on three pitchers (Harvey, Trevor Cahill, Cody Allen) this year, two of whom are already gone (Harvey, Allen) with the third having a 6.43 ERA. Which is why nobody pays much attention to the best player in baseball over the last 50 years (roiders don't count).

I do have compassion for people who have substance abuse problems, but that well runs dry when driving under the influence comes into play. He really needs to get help before he kills someone or himself or all of the above.

Check out this streaming site for MLB games. I've never seen anything like it. He's linked with the MLB game pass or something like that. You can basically watch any game at any time and chat with people as well. Pretty much no adds or pop ups either. Pretty awesome site and even better if you are a sports bettor.

This is legal and above board?! It seems pretty damn good if MLB Extra Innings doesn't pull the plug on this.

I'm honestly not sure if legal. It might simply be a really good interface that links MLB extra innings reddit streams and filters out the ads. Or maybe the person is sharing a stream of his subscription to EI.

Apparently they will be having it for NHL as well when it starts. It's fairly new and they are still working out all the quirks. They have an on going game prediction challenge as well where all users are ranked.

6 games below .500, and the next 11 games vs Pirates, White Sox and Marlins. If this team has a run in them it’s now or never.

Are they thinking no rebuild? Keep Noah sign Wheeler to an exstention and have it DeGrom, Stroman, Syndergaard, Wheeler, Matz.

Though it probably mean they are going to trade Noah.

    though if this is true

then trading Noah wouldn't make sense.

#I'mscared what are they going to do? Ugh!!!!

The trade in a vacuum is fine. But there has to be more---my guess is Wheeler goes.

Remember how we flipped Addison Reed and then traded for AJ Ramos while out of it, to get him for next season? This (getting Stroman and likely trading Thor) seems like that kind of cutesie GM'ing, on steroids.

Unless BVW is a complete idiot, he thinks he can resign Stroman. If the Mets trade Wheeler, Frazier, and Vargas to get some 2020/21 ready prospects, JD can keep everything else in place, this team will be ready to compete next year.

The Mets are at a crossroads with Rosario. They need him to continue producing defensively or move him to center. Also, Gimenez needs to up his plate production. Same with Nido. Can’t ask Alonso, McNeil, Conforto, Davis, and Nimmo to carry every game. Need production from the C and SS.
