A true Jet fan would realize that LT was the second best 56 in NY :).

Agree on all points...maybe Rice vs. Moss is a toss-up.

Lawrence Taylor was from another dimension.

Never been a defensive player that could dominate a game like he could.

There would come a point in a game...usually late, that he would flip a switch and turn it into a dogfight.

And he was the biggest baddest dog on the field.

Rice is the best WR of all time. That’s not a tossup.

It’s possible Williams can get that out of him

Rice was ranked #1 of All time NFL players a decade ago!

    Very low expectations.

You don't demand excellence/greatness from your paid professionals. You're okay with simply good or mediocre.

What percentage of the teams that do end up with generational talents with their top 10 selections make Super Bowl appearances soon after? It wouldn't surprise me if it's close to a 100%.

What percentage of the teams that end up with complete busts or simply good players with their top ten picks make a Super Bowl appearance soon after? It wouldn't surpise me if it's close to 0%.

I used to think that Moss and Rice were somewhat equal, had equitable careers.

Until I looked up the numbers. Unreal how Rices numbers dwarf everyone elses.

    Moss: 982 rec, 15,292 yards, 15.6 per, 156TDs
    Rice: 1549 rec, 22895yards, 14.8per, 197TDs

I demand that if youre going to respond take the time to comprehend what youre reading, to stop putting words in peoples mouths to make yourself look better

No one said they were good with mediocre or simply good. Those words were never mentioned as what is expected from a pick, anywhere in the draft.

What was said is most picks arent HOF picks even if drafted high.

    Youre really bad at this

I would bet youre streak of being completely wrong would be intact.

    Andrew Luck? No
    Barry Sanders? No
    Adrian Peterson? No

Can go on and on and on....

Yet other teams seem to find those players.

Demand excellence from your paid professionals. Then perhaps the Jets Super Bowl drought will be over.

    50 frickin years and counting.

I've never even seen my team play in a Super Bowl while the stinkin' Patriots seem to be there every other year.

And I'd still take any of those guys over our Leo.

WTF does any of this have to do with reality of the draft? What does any of this fantasy world thinking have to do with reality?

You said all top picks need to become Pro Bowl, HOF types. They dont and most wont. You turned that nonsense into a few of us having ow expectations being satisfied with mediocrity. More total nonsense.

You dont know how this debating fact this works

    Some things are innate.

Sure maybe Gregg Williams can scheme a bit more production out of this guy but he can't give him something that was never there to begin with.

Jamal Adams is the total package IMO. Talent, motor, heart, passion and a INNATE drive to be the best he can be. The total package.

ANd that answer is ridiculous in every way.

For all the obvious reasons and to the point of why would you take any of these players who have won nothing? Wasnt that youre point, tthat they have to help win? Now youre happy with statistical compilers who win nothing.

    Can you stay on point.

Really though, its time to stop. Youre staggered, bleeding and ready to fall....

You have no idea what you're talking about.

No one player can do it all by himself.

The fact you took offense with what I said and really what fan that knows anything about football wouldn't take any of those guys over Leo? Just confirms that you're okay with mediocrity you don't demand excellence.

Larry Fitzgerald is now No. 2 in receptions and yards.

Rice was unbelievable. He also had a huge advantage over both Moss and Fitz. Besides longevity, which was a testament to his absolute dedication to his body, he had a HOF QB for most of his career and probably the greatest offensive HC of his era in Bill Walsh.

Moss for my money was simply unstoppable. He made Duante Culpepper look like a HOF QB. When he played with a HOF QB and HC his numbers were astounding.

Looking at the numbers there is no question that Rice is the consensus best WR every. I just think in his prime Moss was the most unstoppable player on a football field.

FYI as a Jets fan I always thought Al Toon and Joe Namath were the two greatest talents to ever wear the uniform. Toon didn't have a great career but he was a very special talent.

It's almost like LWilliams has bought into the notion the job of an interior lineman in a 3-4 D is to stuff the run and occupy lineman so LBers can make plays. LW does all that.

But on a team without LBers who can get to the QB, we need more from LW.

Maybe Quinen will give us the 'more' and LW will learn playing next to him?

The biggest thing that differentiates a guy like Jamal Adams from a guy like Leonard Williams is that Adams would NEVER make excuses about being double teamed.

Moss wasted his career. It’s a shame because he still had a hall of fame career, even though he wasted half of it.

I think he was the most talented receiver ever, but obviously talent is a small part of the story- which is why Rice is far and away the best receiver ever

I like your point about Toon though. It’s a shame what happened to him, I think he could’ve had a hall of fame type career if he stayed healthy
