I don't think the OP really thought out the title here. Once a snake has gone through the brief process where a new skin is developed and the old one is shed what you have left is the same old snake. Is that the message he's looking to send? Is that why the Jets got new uniforms?
Unfortunately, that snake is much more prone to strike while shedding, and immediately after shedding, it begins the process of getting ready to shed again. Very Jet like...
To me the jets are like manure Steaming pile of shit that now is decomposed enough to be fertilizer for a new team to start growing
I think the Jets are using a rare amount of common sense and aggressiveness in building this team. Whether what they do is the right move, and whether or not this actually results in a Super Bowl remains to be seen. But as I've said before, there is actually some passion on this team now.
I think snake wasn't the best comparison. I look at the Jets as a Drac. In the movie Enemy Mine, Louis Gosset Jr. played a Drac named Jeriba Shigan. He was the mortal enemy of Dennis Quaid, a human fighter pilot. In this situation, Dennis Quaid represents success. Both Success (Dennis Quaid) and the Jets (Louis Gosset Jr.) crash on an alien world, and are stranded. They hate each other, and are trying to kill each other. But they realize, Success and the Jets, that they must cooperate in order to survive on this alien planet. They fight monsters and mercenaries, survive blizzards, and build shelter against meteors, and eventually the Jets and Success come to a common ground. Then, surprisingly, the Jets become pregnant, because their race is a bunch of hermaphrodites and reproduce asexually. So the Jets nurture their unborn spawn while slowly becoming a maternal figure, sexually confusing Success. Then the Jets give birth to a young baby Drac named Zammis. The Jets die in childbirth, but the baby Zammis (new Jets) survives, and is raised by Success so they can one day escape the alien planet and win the Super Bowl. Success is the adopted father of the new hermaphrodite lizard baby Jets. That should be the new title of this thread.
That was a good movie. You went deep into the archives for your analogy. Also you end the analogy with a possible SB win! I guess I am showing my age as most people born after 1990 have never even seen this movie.
