He stated the top 5 receivers in the NFL was Julio Jones, Michael Thomas, Odell Beckman top 3 and Julian Edelman and Mike Evan rounding out the top 5. No Antonio Brown or DeAndre Hopkins.
True but he isn't even in the same universe with that comment. Edelman outside of NE would be practice squad. DHop and AB can play on any team.
Edelman is absolute money when all the chips are in and you need the first down. Nothing wrong with the call. Matter of fact Josh sounded pretty damned good behind the desk unlike many other ex NFL jocks. Pure freakish physical talent wise Edelman is not in the same league, but when it really counts he has made Brady look good just as much as Tom has made him look good. When is for the all money I might take him over the extremely talented head case now trotting in Cleveland. My two cents
Bad impression on who? How does your opinion leave a bad impression? How does anyone know that Edelmans league leading numbers arent because hes a top WR and that he would suck anywhere else? Any of the QBs "dissed" like AB or Hopkins play for teams that dont throw the ball all over the field?
I can't believe they hired him. Why? Because he's blonde? Terrible NFL player. Those spots should be reserved for HOF players/coaches/executives. People who've won championships. People like that don't come cheap? A guy like McCown is a bargain?
Because Emitt Smith was so good on their. They took him because he can explain the game in a way that people can understand. That’s it. Like coaching, usually the greats can not breakdown what they see.
Okay. There's plenty of greats out there who can do it. Go find one. McCown? LOL Has to be a cost cutting move by ESPN.
Better still, what does being a journeyman or a star have to do with it? You do realize he's on a panel with a mediocre ex GM, a chic who's there for window dressing an ex players son who never played and his resume is too weak?
So ESPN no longer pays top dollar for proven top ex-athletes, ex-executives, ex-HCs? Ah it all makes sense now. Got it.
