yeah but for those of us who actually watched the game, he wasn't exactly finding open holes...

whatever, I don't really care. maybe McGuire sucks. who cares, I don't wanna argue about the 4th string running back

I watched, didn’t see anything special. Made some nice plays in the passing game but nothing Powell wouldn’t do. And there’s no need to argue, we both agree he is the 4th string running back.

35 yards on 14 attempts gets you going?

Guy averaged 2.6 ypc as a starter. He's not good.

I'm just glad we've got someone on board who will understand that when you're down 13-24 to Pitt and there's 7:30 to go and you're at midfield on 4th and 2 YOU GO FOR IT.

Yeah for the life of me I dont get why Peake was rostered last year. Sure, he can play special teams well (even though he cant return the ball), but seeing him out there on offense being completely inept when we had receivers dropping like flies last season was embarrassing. I don't see the point in rostering someone like that when they are so bad at their listed position.

That's called Mac hanging onto him and hoping he develops into some value because he drafted him and in the meantime he can buy time which only worked for so long.....

He was a 7th round pick what the heck was Mac expecting him to develop into offensively?

If you want good receiver talent, draft it high or trade for it.

Maybe he got a little unlucky with Devin Smith. But that's still a miss. I would still rather have Will Fuller instead of Darron Lee in 2016. Or Michael Gallup instead of Nathan Shepherd in 2018. Are these guys world beating receivers? No, but they have good upside and will be solid contributors for years to come.

Stewart in 2017 was a high pick. 3rd round. and he sucked too though. It's possible he just couldn't identify what a good wide receiver looks like

he got robbie as an UDFA the same yeah fuller went in the 1st round.

    career stats for both

    games missed for injury
    robby 2
    fuller 17

    yards
    robby 2280
    fuller 1561

    TDs
    robby 15
    fuller 13

    catches
    robby 155
    fuller 107

    average YPC
    robby 14.7
    fuller 14.6

robby is basically a better version of fuller with less health issues and didn't cost a premium pick. fuller also has had the advantage of playing opposite arguably the best WR in the NFL tacking away attention while robby has been the #1 WR tanking the focal point of the defense on himself and has benefitted from better QB play overall compared to robby.

Not only that but in the same draft mac found shell in the 5th round who has outperformed all the 1st round OTs taken after our pick as well. that draft was just excellent for us overall

    5. Brandon Shell (pff grade "average")
    7. Lac Edwards (decent punter)
    7. Charone Peake (benchwarmer)

But Lee hasn't been any good. And now he's gone. Wouldn't it be better if we had Fuller and Robby? And yes Fuller isn't some world beater but before his injury he was coming into his own last season. Lee, Hackenberg and Burris make this fall way way short of and excellent draft

Michael Thomas, Tyreek Hill, Justin Boyd went in that draft. We didn't get those guys

The Saints 2017 draft and the Colts 2018 draft are what I'd call excellent. Multiple above average to elite players in both classes. Our 2016 draft did not bring in that kind of haul.

This should help if true. This O has been painfully slow between plays and getting to the line for the next snap. This is where teams like the Pats/Saints excel because Brady/Brees operate at such a fast, high efficiency level that puts even more pressure and keeps defenses off balance. Sounds like Darnold and crew are developing in this area which is big.

Jenkins has improved every year though and if reports are correct he has looked awesome in training camp. Granted it’s still super early, but the guy has no doubt been solid for us especially as a 3rd rounder in a bad draft class.

I don't think Jenkins necessarily improved last year. He got 7 sacks which was nice, but he regressed in coverage and was awful there. He has looked good in camp, but that doesn't mean much. Our star in last year's camp was Chad Hansen of all people.

Jeez what a buncha hot air. Reminds me of the article that came out when Sparano was here talking about the tempo tempo tempo. I called bs then I'm calling bs now.

    Here it is:

    https://nypost.com/2012/06/01/sparano-looking-to-speed-up-jets-offense/

It's nothing all it is is a change of pace.

Tell me about moving the chains, picking up more first downs, making more big plays, how they plan to block better REAL foundation type stuff that effective, winning offenses excel at. Without that all a faster pace means is

First down, second down, third down, punt at a very, very high rate of speed.

I don't think there's a comparison to be made. We didn't have Sam Darnold or Bell when Sparano was here. Sparano/Rex we knew were going to be unimaginative and run heavy
