Jets hire Chad Alexander from the Ravens as director of player personnel

    Just after signing Savage, the Jets hire Chad Alexander from the Raven as director of player personnel. Was with Ravens 20 yrs overlapping Savage and Douglas

    Bit of a stupid question but... does a director of player personnel oversee both pro and college?

    Yes, that is usually how it works.

    Hard not to like a hire who has been in the Ravens FO the last 20 years.
    Hopefully the Jets can establish that type of solid consistency here.

    It varies from team to team. He will likely oversee the director of college scouting and the director of pro personnel. Also typically will have a hand in contract negotiations of free agents and extensions of current players.

    Not going to pretend I know who this guy is but the Ravens, who have been as solid and steady as they come since 2000 or so, is the absolute right franchise to raid.

    We're building a good braintrust here.
