Lets face it if we loose Champ to a GM position on another team it probably means the Jets had a pretty productive year. We could lose him before he gets a chance to ever be a part of a Draft. But you can't worry about things like that. Sign the guy & get the most out of him & hope for the best. If we have to sign another assistant GM, I'm sure there will be a lot of candidates lining up to work with Douglas & follow in Champs footsteps.
I know that you mean "GM" and not "HC." I doubt that we'd lose him before he even participated in a draft for the team, but I guess that anything is possible. Even if we did, since his expertise is in pro personnel, he probably would have helped us prepare for FA, and would have given us some input into the draft.
