Firstly I'd like to say fuck Manish. Secondly, the Jets would have had to give up a lot to move up. I'm not convinced that would have been a wise move for a team with many holes to fill. Although given Macc's shitty draft record he was probably better off trading all his picks outside the 1st round to move up.
I'm just not sure why it warrants a news story. They liked Murphy but knew they wouldn't be able to pick him based on where they were selecting. I'm sure there are a lot more players than Murphy that fit that description every year
If they had made the trade everyone would be bitching that they didnt address edge or OL. MACs mistake was not trading down for volume of picks to address needs..when he did trade down he swapped picks rather than accumulating volume.He did the same thing the year prior. He absolutely sucked on draft day.Picking players,working the phones & executing trades
Thank God that trade didn't happen, but yeah Mac probably one of the worst draft traders, I have ever seen
