We're certainly on the right track. Chris Johnson deserves credit for how things have gone so far. Fuck the fickle media...the Jets have staked claim. If all they can make fun of now is our shitty new uniforms....I'm ok with that.
How good is Sam Darnold ...??? we will find out quickly and the only way Gase/Douglas bring the team/back to respectability in the NFL is for him and the personnel around him to absolutely astound us!! >>>>Beat the Browns and Beat NE Make a statement on Offense and start recording some Sacks on Defense . be stingy giving up points Keep it up each week the months take care of themselves Next thing ya know you start Contending for a Championship We now have Management in place that will slowly help build a Winner..and that's a very big leap from last year
Darnold’s next contract will be interesting. Douglas will be negotiating on behalf of the team against his own agent who will be acting on behalf of Sam. Not sure how they handle these kinds of things because ethics come into play.
Bold Prediction: 1. Sam will marry a supermodel who's net worth is 3x what he could ever earn in the NFL. 2. He will then start a product development company and sign a deal with Johnson and Johnson to market a new pain ointment developed by his firm. They will pay him a yearly amount equal to 50% of his NFL value. 3. This will lead to Sam signing team friendly contracts for the next 20+ years, allowing the extra cash to be allocated toward the O-line which, in turn, will keep him upright and functioning at a high level until he retires at age 45.
The Jets will stop drafting players who are a couple of years away from a discounted breakfast at Bob Evans. They will also stop aggressively drafting players that had numerous injuries during college even though they have “potential”.
2019 9-10 wins ,wild card appearance 2020 Douglas goes all in spends every last penny . If Darnold develops as hoped, Super Bowl possibly 2021 strike, no football, new CBA, new cap structure. Mini rebuild for the new future. Have to get it done next season...
We will be rebuilding in 3 years. Gase will be a total failure and set this franchise back a decade by forcing a trade of Darnold who goes on to a stellar career with team number 2
The team will improve, look poised to take the next step, and then break my heart by just missing out by losing in Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Indy, Denver and INSERT NEW HEARTACHE HERE. From looking at the history of our franchise this is the best we can hope for. More likely he fails miserably and drafts someone who becomes folklore for being bad. Gholston, Hackenberg etc etc. .....................But where is the fun in history repeating, the pats were once rubbish and then came good so here we go for bold prediction 10-6 this year with wildcard and then lose on the road. The year after 12-4 and win the east and we retire Brady and we finally beat the man woooooo, then superbowl by beating steelers with Bell running for 120 and 2 tds. On to the Superbowl, oh to dream. But seriously Douglas looks a good hire, whether he would have chosen Gase and his coaching staff if he was in charge in Jan remains to be seen. But a good looking hire i must say. GO JETS!!
